Edmonton's weather, we got it...

We're up to a couple inches and it doesn't look like it will stop any time soon. I know those people in Edmonton and Regina will have a hard time generating a lot of sympathy for us but our weather is usually more civilized.

Whoa, hold on here, a couple of inches? A dump of snow? Heck, I don't even take my tractor out of the shed for that, I just wait for it to melt. Now anything over a foot is a dump out here. Three winters ago we got 3 feet overnight, 8Onow that was a dump. That was before the plough nicely put 6 foot windrows at the ends of driveways, I did a good business with my tractor that day.:toothy8:

Yeah, we're getting it too, has nanaimo written all over it.

Have to admit it is very pretty, I have a small blue spruce out by the road, covered
with xmas lights, and it looks beautiful right now, covered in snow, think i will take joe out for a walk
around the culdesac, might not be so pretty in the morning, and of course the cat
will come too, we can't walk the dog without her, or she kicks up such a stink in the house, till someone lets her out.

Guess I'll have to find my solid shoes, still wearing sandals.;-)

Ugh! Weather! Just got back home from a week in Ottawa and a little place south of Montreal called Richelain. It snowed heavily almost every damn day we were there, we drove to Richelain and back from Ottawa on Wednesday in blowing snow and freezing rain, and it was unseasonably cold when it wasn't snowing and raining. But we had a lovely time visiting my wife's sister's family in Ottawa, saw our eldest son graduate as a naval officer (my son the naval officer; still having trouble getting my head around that) from the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruitment School in Richelain, and spent an exhausting and moving day in the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, which I recommend to everybody. A tough trip, made worse by foul weather, and a transit strike in Ottawa, but I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Then we flew home to Regina this evening to a temperature of -28 degrees and a windchill of -42. I'm having one of those days when I seriously wonder why I live here...

Well, we got another six or seven inches overnight and it is still coming down. Looks definitely like Campbell River snow to me.;-) We just did a big grocery shopping yesterday morning and we don't even have to go outside for a week or two. But I guess I'd better at least knock down the wall that the snowplows left across the end of the driveway.:roll:

I wonder if that means there's more in store for Grand Forks. We had about 7-8" total and now temp. is plummeting- minus 14C this morning. Do you remember Dec.29, 1996? Check the records for Vancouver Island for that date. WE lived in Parksville at that time.

I was in Grand Forks about 5 years ago, took my grandson to a b.c. golf
tournament at Christina Lake.
Grand Forks is a neat little town, took a walk around there for an hour or so.

We lived in Parksville from '85-'99, but had to get out, too much rain, too much crime and too much congestion. G.F. is nice, we've been here 9 years but plan on moving again - probably to Salmon Arm- wife likes the big cities.......:lol:

Parksville has one of the most moderate climates in Canada. Less rain than the
rest of the island, but if you don't like rain at all, then the island isn't the place
for you, or the lower mainland.
Don't really understand congestion in parksville, but I guess you mean because the main highway goes right through, and if you're close to that area, it is very
busy.
We lived in town, Stanford and McVickers, I liked it cause I could walk everywhere I needed to go, especially the beach, as we spent much time there.
I couldn't live 'away' from the ocean, ever, but I love all of B.C., and we travel
through the interior and other parts from time to time, have been to many
different areas of B.C., and we stay in Merrit sometimes, have relatives
there, then we drive short trips from there.
I love the drive from Pr. George to Pr. Rupert, have done that a couple of
times, and taken the ferry from rupert to the island, oops, i'm getting off
topic.

No No, You can have your weather back. We were finished with it a couple days ago. I've got ten inches of snow on my driveway and I'm waiting for the rain to wash it away.......According to the weatherman, it's not even going to thaw for at least five days. This is the balmy west coast....In a couple months I will tell you about our crocuses and snowdrops and daffodils....:roll::lol:
