Northern Ontario,
I never had a kidney stone myself but this One guy in the mill, that was so tough that he broke a leg in the bush, splintered it on his own and hopped one mile to his truck and drove himself to the hospital for a proper cast.
I was a first aider in the mill and that same tough guy would have dropped to his knees in pain, every time that stone move a short distance, if I hadn't been there to support him.
The doctor (old school type) , before giving him a shot of Demerol, to make sure it was a stone gave him a light tap on the rump. Good thing there was a bed right in front of him for him to drop on.

Was it wrong of me to laugh when I saw the size of what the man gave birth to while in agony?

A friend of mines mother developed lumps on the side of her throat. Fearing it was a tumor, they removed the lumps only to discover that they were dormant gills that had suddenly become active. Genetic throwback or mutation developing for future use?
