A disturbing editorial in a CUNY grad-student newspaper calls for rioters protesting the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown to arm themselves and wage violent war with cops.
“The time for peace has passed,” says a revolutionary editorial titled “In Support of Violence” that was penned by editor-in-chief Gordon Barnes in the Dec. 3 issue of The Advocate.
“The problem with the protesters’ violence in Ferguson is that it is unorganized. If the violence was to be organized, and the protesters armed — more so than the few that sparingly are — then the brunt of social pressures would not be laid onto middling proprietors [of looted small businesses], but unto those deserving the most virulent response of an enraged populace,” Barnes writes in the CUNY Grad Center’s publication. “The acts of looting, destruction of property and violence directed towards state representatives is not only warranted, it is necessary,” says Barnes, a doctoral student in history who once studied in Cuba.
The editorial — illustrated in the online version with the circled, capital A that symbolizes anarchy — also urges rioters to emulate the Black Panthers and Malcolm X instead of Martin Luther King and other advocates of nonviolence — and hopes the unrest will morph into a revolution.

The problem with this writing is its lack of balance. For example, where is its condemnation of white supremacist attacks on police in Nevada, or Eric Rudolph's crimes, or those of Gordon Kahl? The writer speaks of double standards but I don't recall his attacks on white crazies who committed their heinous crimes. Nor do I recall anyone saying that conservatives should take the moral high ground in those instances.

Rachel Noerdlinger on Thursday made her first public appearance since getting dumped by City Hall — standing beside the Rev. Al Sharpton as he publicly disagreed with Mayor de Blasio.
Hizzoner has asked that anti-cop protesters wait to march until after the funerals of two assassinated officers.
But with Noerdlinger at his side at a Harlem charity event, Sharpton revealed that he has told de Blasio that protesters should be allowed to express their views.
“I told the mayor that I don’t think you can tell people not to exercise their democratic feelings. They have the right to do whatever,” the preacher said.
Noerdlinger — a top mayoral aide who served as chief of staff to First Lady Chirlane McCray — took a leave of absence after a string of embarrassing revelations, including that she lives with a convicted felon who has posted anti-cop sentiments online. She had been an aide to Sharpton previously.
Sharpton said his own group isn’t going to march before the funerals.
But, he added, they’re not putting their weekly Saturday civil-rights gathering on hold.
“We’ve said at the National Action Network that [what] we’ve scheduled, we’re going to continue to do,” he said at his group’s annual Christmas meal service.
Sharpton also took an apparent swipe at the police unions, de Blasio and other leaders who have raged against him over what they perceive as his stoking of anti-cop sentiment.
“Cheap demagogues,” he called those “who are trying to score cheap points off the bodies of these police.”

“These men and women put on this uniform every day, like I have for 37 years, and they go out and serve their communities with distinction, with honor, with courage, with sacrifice, integrity, character,” he said. “And for these people in these high-profile positions to disparage their reputation with a broad brush like that, I found it sickening. I found it despicable”
During a National Press Club in Washington D.C. and before the grand jury made its decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson, Clarke accused Holder of exploiting a racial fire and compared Al Sharpton to a vulture feeding on a roadside carcass.
“I’m not one known to sugar coat things. This pissed me off.. Those are nothing but two-bit politicians, they do that sort of thing, that’s what politicians do you know that…but I did not expect that from Eric Holder, who calls himself a law enforcement officer.” Hope he enjoys his audit.
President Walker or Cruz should consider Clarke for Attorney General. Then President Clarke in 2020 to run off these liberal race-baiters.

This kind of disrespect at a funeral - no matter WHAT your beliefs on the situation are - is not only rude but uncalled for. This shouldn't be about whether the cops think the mayor is wrong or not, it should be about the two officers who were murdered by a madman. Turning the funeral into a political stunt is disgusting and I hope those who did turn their backs are ashamed of themselves. I also feel for their fellow officers who did NOT turn their backs, or asked those who did not to, to have to work with and be around ignorant subhuman pos people like this. Though it's not likely those who acted out will be punished, they should be.
I have friends in the RCMP, I respect them a lot for the job they do (especially after the lockdown in Moncton and hearing first hand the emotions one of the officers in charge at one point had) and they don't get paid enough or compensated enough for what they do. That said there ARE jerks and worse in all police forces and it's those types who only instigate or make things worse for their fellow officers. You can't respect officers when they support someone who has absolutely no regret about killing someone. You can't respect officers who support people who use illegal means to restrain a person. You can't respect officers who policy is to shoot first, over and over, until the person is dead, and THEN ask questions. You can't respect police forces that feel the need for military grade vehicles and weapons when their job is to handle the law of citizens in their own country. Or maybe you can, but I can't.
You can work with and support the police whole heartedly but you still can and should question their motives and actions.

A Boston woman claims God told her “to go feed the pigs” so she decided to head to the nearest police station.
According to the Boston Herald, Lindsey McNamara, 24, allegedly entered the station Friday and when an officer asked if he could help her, she said, “Yeah, I’m here to feed the pigs.”
McNamara then reached into the Dunkin’ Donuts box she was carrying, grabbed handfuls of raw bacon and sausage and began smearing them all over a window at the front desk counter.
She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property.
At a court hearing Saturday, McNamara’s arraignment was postponed until Feb. 9.

People are going nuts. Cops are like any other profession, there's a few "bad apples" and a few exemplary ones and a whole bunch who are just trying to do their jobs in a proper manner. They are often not dealing with the most debonair members of the public.
