I take the wheel as it enabled easier transport of bulk goods.
The printing press as it was the spark that spread knowledge easily. Prior to that all books - manuscripts were copied by hand and quite expensive. The printing press caused knowledge to explode.

Aquaducts as they enabled water to be moved from where it was to where it was needed enabling better agriculture and bigger cities.

Steam engine increased the amount of work that was able to be done. Allowed the transport of goods over a far greater range and opened up areas that otherwise would not have been opened up.

Good points.
But they needed to transport the surplus agricultural products- otherwise they would not have grown them. The wheel enabled that thru carts using donkeys-horses.
Steam engine- Runs on wheels. Yes it enabled mass production but all the gears run on a wheel based format.

Ok...I thought we were to start making a list of the worlds greatest inventions pre and post BC/AD. You had already picked the wheel and the printing press, I picked 2 others. Sorry for misunderstanding. You win. You picked the best.

There is no win- loss - It it what those inventions lead to. I should have been clearer in the OP. My apologies
Both inventions you mentioned changed the world.
It is supposed to be an easy and polite discussion. To many threads are so argumentative. I posted this OP with the opposite in mind.
We all learn from it.

All of the world's greatest inventions over the last couple of hundred years are British ones.

c. 3300BC - the sword (modern day Turkey)

1925AD - the television, by British inventor John Logie Baird (it's hard to imagine a world now without TVs). Baird gave the first public demonstration of moving silhouette images by television at Selfridges department store on London's Oxford Street in a three-week series of demonstrations beginning on 25 March 1925. In his laboratory at 22 Frith Street, London, on 2 October 1925, Baird successfully transmitted the first television picture with a greyscale image: the head of a ventriloquist's dummy nicknamed "Stooky Bill" in a 30-line vertically scanned image, at five pictures per second.

Stooky Bill on the first TV picture with a greyscale image, 2 October 1925.

Stooky Bill, the world's first TV star, now lives at the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Archimede's Screw
Archimedes' Screw has been used to lift water to higher levels since ancient times. Archimedes (287-212 B.C.) is the traditional inventor of this device, which was originally used for irrigation in the Nile delta and for pumping out ships. I have seen a nineteenth century Archimedes' screw still at work pumping water in a windmill at Schermerhoorn in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. It lifted the water a vertical distance of 1 meter.
