After Tory started making things up just to win, he defeated himself. Rae sunk the NDP in Ontario. So by default who is left to form the government?
If we only had a few cadidates who were interested in the good of the province and people instead of the power and friends, we might change things.

Sheep are dumber than a bag of rocks.

McGuilty is a smirking liar and tax thief.

Tory is unproven as a liar as yet. Howie can play hockey.

Vote Green, Howie or John. Take your pick.

Who are you? The shepherd or his dog!:p

What things need changing, Unforgiven?

If you all want to watch the Conservative Tories or Tory crash and burn in the Ontario elections tonight go to CTV's live site http://www.ctv.ca/mini/ontarioElection2007/.

I will be playing the violin as the Conservative party is kept down and in their place on the bottom where they belong.

Harper will be shaking in his booties

If they had a box that said "None of the above" it would get my X right now...

I bet if someone started the "None of the Above" party, their candidates would win. I voted Green and for MPP. If you want change, you won't get it by voting for the twiddle-dee Liberals or twiddle-dum Conservatives. These parties have both had their chances, and they've proven they don't represent us, they represent rich powerful people. Rich powerful people deserve represenation, but so does everyone else.

Spoiled ballot is also a statement. Last feral election I wrote Mickey Mouse for Prez on the ballot. My name was stroked off the list so that's all that mattered to me. I have my right to bi*ch ... and I got to be cheeky too....

Mirrored my own actions and sentiments exactly.

Blech! 162 out of 210 polls.... Now Ramsey's ahead here. Temiskaming Cochrane has been a good race between Lib and NDP all night. Now, Ramsey might listen about nuisance bears and lumber....

My riding was decided by 36 votes. Amazing. In a riding that was won by more than 12,000 votes last time out. Looks like we'll be having a re-count.

I can't imagine the ramifications it would have had on our community had the NDP won; the sawmill is on the brink of closing without provincial help, and has only lasted this long because of our MP's hard work in convincing the Premier to make it a priority. I can't imagine it would have been so effective if our representative was from the party teetering on official party status (in a staggering majority government) trying to keep it open. Dodged a bullet there...

That being said because the NDP candidate is a heck of a guy, a former teacher and pretty smart guy, and really seems to care about our little community, always out there shaking hands and talking to people. One of those 'right guy, wrong party' things I suppose (much like Mr. Tory). Even the PC candidate here had an excellent showing in a normally left-wing riding, and she's also an excellent candidate with a strong background. The Green candidate was articulate and was the only one not to shout over others during the debates; too bad it's a tough riding to be in where protest votes shift between the two left-leaning parties, and protest votes rarely go to fringe parties.

All-in-all, it was an excellent race in an otherwise predictable and uneventful campaign.

Lucky you don't have Ramsay. He did bugger all when Weyerhauser decided to close the doors and take all the machinery to the States from Sturgeon Falls' paper mill, and he's doing about as much about Quebec and American interests harvesting Ontario trees while Ontario mills close. He only made it back in by the skin of his teeth.

We've been lucky with Bill Mauro. New guy looking to make an impact, and he really stood up for the community. Considering it's less than 3,000 people in an area that includes half of Thunder Bay, it's been quite impressive that he convinced the Premier to make the plants and mills here a priority; constant reminders in the House seemed to have worked, and would have been for naught if tonight had turned out differently. I hope he stays on the backbenches and fights for our community and the riding, though I wouldn't be surprised to see him in cabinet some day soon.

Love him or hate him (and frankly, in terms of personal voting, I actually would have gone for the NDP candidate based on personality alone), the guy has done more for this riding than I've seen from any MPP here, regardless of party affiliation.
