Why King James version, why not the Sinai bible?

The King James Bible, introduced during the reign of King James VI and I in 1611 for the Church of England, which enabled ordinary people to be able to understand what was being read to them in church rather than having it read to them in Latin as the Catholic Church did, has been called "the most influential version of the most influential book in the world, in what is now its most influential language", "the most important book in English religion and culture", and "the most celebrated book in the English-speaking world". It has contributed 257 idioms to English, more than any other single source, including Shakespeare; examples include "feet of clay" and "reap the whirlwind". Although the Authorized Version's former monopoly in the English-speaking world has diminished – for example, the Church of England recommends six other versions in addition to it – it is still the most popular translation in the United States, especially among Evangelicals.

Yep, which just proves that the KJB is the most misused text in the world. Having Evangelicals use it as their 'go to' for God isn't exactly a shining beacon of 'yay' for the book.

I'm afraid I don't understand the question, Twila.

Sorry, was posting from my phone. the keyboard and screen are small and my eyes are poor.

I'd meant to type "who said it was superior".

Although I would not say it is superior, it is closer to the original and therefore less adulterated. The OT goes back to the Sumerians and the Hindu Vedas (at least). The NT was not a chronicle of a man's life, but an allegory and metaphor for human spiritual development. The Catholic church were the original keepers of the original writings and are responsible for the thousands of changes, additions and omissions over a thousand years. Th authors of the KJV removed 13 books altogether. Any and all versions in use today are adulterated versions, especially that one you like to quote. None are "the written record".

The superior version is the living Word, Cliffy. The written word in any version points to Him.

Not sure what you think that means, but for me it is what I have been saying all along, "if you want to know the truth, go to the Source." The source is not written, it is experienced.

WHosever version is bound to have screwups in it. It was written by humans. And it really does not matter anyway because it is just a guide for humans to use in order to keep peace with each other, more or less. That is why it is full of parables and fables. It is also why people interpret it differently and get different messages from it. lol

What you see and experience in the smoke is amazing if you get some good shït.....
Exactly. And the Bible seems to be "good ****". hehe
