Ironsides, what Republicans think of Hispanics comes right out their mouth, there is no need for guesswork. Thus the bad blood between Hispanics and Republicans over the immigration issue, the incendiary rhetoric employed by the talk radio, by the far right against the Hispanics, tells me that their views about Hispanics are pretty much in line with those of Archie Bunker. A fact which was also very evident by the vitriolic, vicious attacks launched by Republicans on Sottomoyer.

YJ, the reason blacks don’t vote Republican is pure and simple, they consider Republicans to be racist.

And that is why the views held by Republicans do not matter. In fact, opinion polls tell us that on some issues blacks are actually more conservative than whites (e.g. on gay marriage issue). Yet most of them vote Democratic. The reason for this is that Republicans are perceived as racists by blacks (and to some extent by Hispanics). In politics, perception is reality.

So none of your arguments hold any water. Racism trumps all.

I have never accused conservatives of being racist, EagleSmack (unlike you, you have accused liberals of being racist). What I have said (and I stand by it) is that according to most blacks, conservative are racist, that is why they overwhelmingly vote against conservatives.

To some extent same applies to Hispanics as well. While not as overwhelming as in the case of blacks, Hispanics routinely vote for Democrats, for liberals over conservatives 65:35 or 70:30.

So it wouldn’t surprise me if many Hispanics consider Republicans racist (especially after the immigration debate and the absolutely vicious, diabolic trashing of Sottomoyer by the Republicans)).
