Whose death deserves respect?

People should try to seperate the the artist as an artist and the artist as a person. You know the artist and that is who you are in love with. You have never met the person, their death has no impact on your life (especially MJ, he sure wasn't going to be releasing anything new, nor was he ever going to complete his upcoming tour) This especially sickens me when I heard that tickets were being awarded over radio shows for people to go to his funeral....WTF! Thats for family and friends, the people that actually met him. A human dies every second, most times without leaving a living legacy that will render them alive for always. I know people are sad but jesus christ, I've seen some people get more upset about this than one of their own grandparents dying. It's kinda sad. Love and respect the work, and if you meet the man, then you can think what you want.

I think you might just be onto something there.

It's not a fact...it is a horrendous accusation that he was found not guilty of and acquitted. Unfortunately, it seems there are some of limited mental capacity that can't seem to understand that.

Is it limited mental capacity or is it just some people thinking back to O.J.?

Can you find a link to where MJ was indicted? Sure, he admits to sharing a bed ... and to a lot of us, that's not right. Fact is, it's just weird. There's no law against it is there? There have been accusations. Everyone wants in on the gravy train. If you don't want your kids being babysat by MJ ... don't hire him.

That's totally right, I would NEVER say he was a child molester and until he's proven guilty he's not in the eyes of the law, just a O.J. was not guilty in the eyes of the law. BUT knowing that the law is not infallible, people can have their own opinions about it for the purpose of making their OWN decisions.

Often times rude comments about a tragedy are a type of denial or defense mechanism. Perhaps Van isle's hubby could explain it better but often times people who have to deal with tragic situations like accidents and death tend to make what to most would appear to be extremely rude or insensitive comments. It tends to help keep the nightmares down.I know most of you would not want to hear us at the fire hall after a bad MVA and take it out of context. Then again some people are just rude and crude jerks.

NY politico Peter King called MJ a ''pervert''. That sure as hell won't win him too many votes.

Well, it's hard not to agree to the term 'pervert', when a 40 year old man likes to share his bed with 10 year olds that aren't his own kids.

He may not have been a convicted child molester, which is a legal thing, but he certainly was a pervert.

I'd amend that to "ALMOST certainly"- I've learned in life "there's an exception to every rule"

Only a politically correct person would argue with that.

Peter King does not need votes from those he might have irked. He rules Staten Island, NY. He is King.

If pervert means a person displaying sociopathic behavior, then he was a pervert. Otherwise as far as society is concerned (legally speaking), he wasn't. A lot of people display sociopathic behavior. lol

How about we use the term "Child Molester". That should narrow down the field a bit.[/quotel

YOu're not supposed to say that anymore than you are allowed to call O.J. a killer. Would a person dare ask if "freak" would be an appropriate term?
