Ontario here, born, raised, educated, and currently work. I see from the poll that there's nobody from Manitoba or Quebec. I wonder why though. With so many people on this site, you'd think there would be at least one person from each.

I am originally from Quebec but have now lived longer in BC. I know there are a few from Quebec here, just have not stopped into the thread I guess..

If gumboots could be comfy and stylish...

They can be comfy if you wear the right sox. And they can be stylish, depending on your locale. Unfortunately I pulled off a fashion faux pas, while this was the style on the reserve I was living on, my arrival at a hotel in Winnipeg, jeans tucked into my muddy gum boots, rifle slung over my shoulder and 5 star (that's a sleeping bag) in hand did turn a few heads, but only a few.

I hear gumboots are a fashion statement among sheep herders.

I'm from Manitoba but it's against my religion to take part in polls.

Not to mention Downhome Woman and Prairie Lady. P.L. probably stayed away because she knew I was here. But I loved "questioning" her.

Downhomewoman was on here a few nights ago. I did speak with her and sent a message to her wall. PL and I don't exactly get along so I just left that alone. Too political for me. I didn't want to go there.

Her bark is worse than her bite, she's just too mesmerized with the Liberals- can't see when it comes to being dirty, rotten, lying, cheating scum, they are all tarred with the same brush.

Hi Cliff,
He has not shown any interest in joining these forums. He felt there was too much arguing going on at canada.com and I think he just feels he'd rather not get into it here. There has been a couple of times when I can fully understand what he is saying in that regard. As for fishing - I had no idea the two of you had discussed it. I don't think he has ever been to your town for as much as he loves to fish. We did just buy a boat at the end of the summer as we do live near a lake. Not sure if we'll take it out in the "big" water. We actually caved and agreed to purchase it with one of our sons. I get the feeling it's one of those purchases we'll hardly use. I've never been in it yet. His hearing is not the best so he wears a headset when he watches TV which means I cannot talk to him because he can't hear me and he has to turn them off if I do say something so - usually I don't bother and that's where we are right now. He's watching some old war show and I'm here on my laptop. Tomorrow night we are having dinner out to celebrate our anniversary so I will try to remember to ask him about the "fishing". He has a special birthday coming up on Friday. Between both our anniversary and his birthday, it has both of us looking back at how young we were when we met and how different things in our lives were 42 years ago. I admit it is an odd feeling. Not a bad feeling but it's different. What's the old saying - "the more things change, the more they stay the same".
Did you see that Charcoal was on tonight? Talked to DHW the other night here too. Pretty soon we'll all be here. I notice Spade has been away for a couple of days.
Take care. Talk to you soon.

Island Specific,

Just joshin' with ya about the fishin'. He said something about it when he got the boat but it is not likely I'll be getting down your way for a long time. Say hi to him for me though - Cliff

IP and everyone, I thoroughly enjoy reading all your posts, I usually would just prefer to read rather than post. I enjoy yours IP and also your husband's 'back when'. Alot of times I don't log in, but there are times I have to log in to even read some parts of threads. ('register to see links'). I didn't realize PL has been on and I'm expecting Niklan and HH to show up, sooner or later. Salutations to Sirrup.
