Universities are gutting our freedoms

While Conservative Party leader Andrew Scheer’s plan to withhold federal funding from universities that fail to protect free speech may be a blunt instrument, something needs to be done.
Many universities aren’t protecting free speech, freedom of association, or any other rights. They run for cover when student groups invite controversial speakers to campus, claiming they’re motivated by “security concerns”, given potential disruptions by students or organizations opposed to the speaker.
In other words, they tacitly endorse censorship by those intending to censor.
(Hard core socialist groups have LONG recognized that youth are susceptible to their propaganda! Socialists have decided it is easier to persuade inexperienced kids to think their way than it is to persuade wiser adults! In 1942 our very own Pet- Pierre Trudope despaired of forming a dock workers union in Montreal- with the intention of disrupting military supplies to Britain- the nation engaged in what Our Pet PUBLICLY SCORNED as “British Imperialism” hence the Trudope desire to mess up the flow of supplies! Happily, Cdn dock workers proved resistant to Trudope twisted propaganda and refused to play along! Our vile Pet simply assumed they had been too heavily indoctrinated to be able to understand what he was offering them! Stupid, arrogant and wrong- it is Classic Trudope!)
(And Winston Churchill had the best comment-saying: “a young man of conscience will be a socialist, but when he is older and wiser, he will be a capitalist”. Churchill also said: “capitalism and democracy look poorly till you compare them to any of the alternatives”! Socialists have therefore gravitated to colleges and universities to take FULL advantage of the captive audience of kids who lack the life experience to argue and who lack the academic power to scorn radical teachers as they deserve because exposing a socialist nitwit professor is a great way to FAIL the course!)
Or, they charge the cost of providing security to students, which effectively cancels the event.
As worrisome, faculty and staff in many universities, particularly in the social sciences, tend to be over-represented by those on the political left and intolerant of other views.
(Arts and social science groups are the most heavily oriented towards sucking up govt grants. The grads of social science courses are advocates in search of victims- and it does not matter whether the victims have a real complaint or not! Opposition to the existing political theology is the ONLY criteria for the socialist selection process!)
Which brings us to the bizarre story of Rebecca Katzman, 22, a graduating social work student at Ryerson University, reported by the Toronto Sun’s Sue-Ann Levy last week.
Katzman told Levy she was informed by her field placement co-ordinator in 2015 that she could not do a third-year internship with either one of two respected Jewish organizations — the Prosserman Jewish Community Centre or the United Jewish Appeal.
Why? Because of their alleged “strong anti-Palestinian lean” and opposition to the values of Ryerson’s School of Social Work, an opinion the co-ordinator apparently formed after discussing the issue with Jews who were part of “Jews Against Israeli Apartheid”.
(A dispassionate observer would suggest that “Jews Against Israeli Apartheid are in fact radicals and do not represent the main stream views of either Cdns or Israelis as they are hostile to the wall Israelis have built to separate themselves from Palestinian raiders seeking to murder Jews. The main stream thinking is that if there is no contact between Israeli and Palestinian then there can be no violence either! Less terror against Jews means less pressure in Israeli govt to compromise with Arabs for the sake of peace- and reduced options for what PLO leader Yasser Arafat referred to as a series of demands, compromises and peace treaties that will weaken Israel to the point it can be erased and the Jews driven into the sea.)
Oh, well then.
Katzman said the co-ordinator told her she might reconsider if she agreed to bring a “critical awareness” about Palestinian solidarity movements to these organizations.
(In other words- Katzman CAN work at a Jewish agency- IF she is prepared to pick fights with her new employers on behalf of Terrorists! This is mind control on a loathsome level!)
Simply put, how could any responsible official at a university think this was an appropriate way to handle a request for a field placement from a student?And what, specifically, is going on at Ryerson’s School of Social Work?
(IT is LIE-beral style social engineering of the sort mandated by Our vile Pet Pieere when he told us he wanted to destroy “Cdn Imperialism”! Give the Trudope clan enugh rope and they will hang all of us who do not swear fealty to a cabal of Soviet dictators and Arab terrorists! Our Pet has heaped fulsome praise on Chinese leader Mao for-as Our Pet said: ”his genius in rushing 30 million Chinese to the gallows”! Yes- 30 million political prisoners executed to satisfy the Commie lust for power! And Our idiot |Boy Justin has admitted “he likes the way the Chinese get things done”! There are No defenders of capitalism or democracy in the Trudope clan! And the vile Trudope policies are being spread across our campuses!)
While the co-ordinator later backtracked and apologized for providing “misinformed information” after Katzman complained internally, she disputes Ryerson’s claim it took, “quick, thorough, and responsive action”, including offering to place her with one of her preferred agencies.
(Sadly, hypocrite socialists scurry into repentance mode when firmly confronted- just like cockroaches suddenly exposed to the light!)
Katzman ended up doing her third-year placement working with autistic children and told Levy her experience, “really discouraged me from wanting to pursue a Jewish sort of placement (in my fourth year) because I didn’t want to go through that (same) emotional stress. My last two years were very rough.” Small wonder.
Particularly concerning are the words of Meryle Kates, executive director of StandWithUsCanada, a pro-Israel campus organization which supported Katzman and awarded her a fellowship.
“I’ve been hearing horror stories from students for 10 years,” she said. “Anti-Semitism in the school of social work is endemic ... but Ryerson is only one of so many campuses that have been overrun with this toxicity.”
It’s time our publicly-funded universities were disabused of the notion that this is acceptable behaviour.
(Such remedial action will be easier when their LIE-beral “enablers” are swept from office- we can only hope it happens before too much damage is done!)
