it's game 7 of the stanley cup final, and a man makes his way to his seat right at center ice. He sits down, noticing that the seat next to him is empty. He leans over and asks his neighbor if someone will be sitting there. "no," says the neighbor. "the seat is empty." "this is incredible", said the man. "who in their right mind would have a seat like this for final game of the stanley cup playoffs and not use it?" the neighbor says "well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first stanley cup we haven't been to together since we got married in 1967." "oh ... I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone else, a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?" the man shakes his head "no, they're all at the funeral."

lmao!

I'm a Kiwi aka New Zealander and I'm not familiar with either culture or country as most Kiwis' are not.

We had an American guy here whom my friend assumed was Canadian and she asked what part of Canada was he from and he made it very clear that Americans' and Canadians' are nothing alike and he was insulted.

Are Canadians and American's vastly different as people? Are the two cultures also vastly different?

I haven't met many Canadians' or Americans' in person but I must confess the Canadians that I have met in comparison to Americans have been a little more friendly and hospitable but that has been my own personal opinion.

So as a Kiwi / New Zealander who knows no different, please tell me what differs between the two people/s and their countries...

Very very little- we both laugh and cry and hurt and bleed. There is a a slight difference in the way some of us speak. Their gov't is slightly different from ours, we are big on hockey, they are bigger on baseball and football. Canadians may be a little more reserved and Americans more outgoing. Personally I liike BOTH people.

Brain capacity, Americans have more. :)

Yes I have to admit in certain ways they do, just as we are smarter in certain other ways. What I've noticed most about Americans over the years, is their ability in being hospitable and obliging to the public. They seem to have the patience to be accommodating before digging into your pockets. They just come across as generally less uptight and a little friendlier.

I think in general Canadians are more laid back and more interested in the collective rather than the individual. Americans are more interested in themselves and 'making it in the big leagues,' getting a good job and stuff.

Perhaps, I am judging from about 3 or 4 western U.S. states and judging people like motel desk clerks, waitresses, gas station attendents and casino employees and store clerks. I've never rubbed shoulders with the high mucky mucks.

I guess you have a point. I didnt really mean it in a derogatory way, I just feel that the American mentality is more directed towards making a good living while the Canadian one is directed towards being happy or just chilling out :) That's just the perception I get.

Yep, you'll likely find both those traits in both countries- as I said in my original post there is very little difference between Canadians and Americans- people is people.

Kiwi, I am afraid I cheated there. I heard this joke may be 25 years ago, in England. As told to me, it was about the British. I simply substituted ‘Canadian’ for ‘British’.

My favourite Canadian sex joke:
A french fellow is walking down the beach and comes across a drowned woman's body. He runs off to get the police. As he returns he sees his friend Pierre humping the woman. The first guy yells out, "Pierre! Stop dat!"
"Poorquoi?"
"Bien, she's dead, Estie!"
"Ah bien Tabernac, I tot she was Henglish!"

Sounds like you have a lot of experience.

No, everyone knows that Americans have small dicks.

It's world wide I guess because the USA makes so much porn. You can't make cars worth sh!t or run an honest bank but you do know how to be exhibitionists.

From the guy who says Canada NEEDS nuclear weapons. You are obviously over compensating for something.

No, that's because we have a psychotic, trigger happy, imperialistic, failed state as a neighbour that is so used to big missiles pointing at its face that it's all they understand.

South Korea tops that list, then Japan, Finland, Australia, the Czech Republic, Brazil, than the US...;-)

Rationale, reason, commonsense and logic...out the window...

LOL so this how the "smartest guy on the forum" makes a retort? LMAO

Looks retarded to me
When dealing with a child, cartoons are the best bet to get the point across...

If anyone made as many insulting and disparaging remarks about gays as Scott Free makes about Americans, that person would be declared - rightfully - a homophobe.

If anyone made as many insulting and disparaging remarks about blacks, Chinese or Native Americans/Canadians, that person - rightfully - would be called a racist.

If he treated Jews, verbally, as Scott Free treats Americans, he would surely - and correctly - be called anti-Semite.

If he spoke about women like that he would surely and rightfully, be called sexist.

But of course, whites, males, Christians, straights and of course, Americans are open for any abuse, offense and insults, so well illustrated by Scott Free.
