Actually were both correct at least according to Webster's . Pagan is anyone outside the three Abrahamic traditions but also someone who does not believe in your god in other words different theists consider other theists pagans based on standpoint .You would be incorrect. We are not both correct. You are correct for you, I for me. I am quite traditional in my Catholicism, to wit, outside the Church no salvation..etc..etc.etc.
I tend to doubt that a Supreme Being, by whatever name you wish to call Him/Her/It, would be so petty, after creating a whole universe as to condemn to eternal damnation anyone who happens to be born in the “wrong” religion.

I think of the Supreme Deity in far more reaching descriptives than we choose for ourselves, nor relegate this entity to any one form of worship.
I tend to think we are just a gigantic experiment of yet an evolved (but still) animal life and have no real touch with the magnificence of what creation actually is.
Perhaps if we live enough progressive civilizations, through many experiential learnings, we may find our way to the goal - however by then the goal may have been changed.
I believe benificence is to be the final goal - however creation of flawed creatures to see how they could withstand the influences of self seeking and satisfaction was what humans were destined to be - as we are now - but hopefully not in some distant future.
I believe it will take many more years of learning than our current life span is capable of, to learn what the final reason and purpose is for we creatures who practice at a level nowhere near our potential.... and irreverently dream up visions of our "god" as if it is within our capacity to do so.
