I'll let you children chew on that truth for a while. If you need more nuggets, just let me know. I've got lots to share...Jesus said that we must become like little children in order to see/understand the things of God. You can not possibly make sense of it with your limited gray matter. Understanding comes from heart and faith from believing that we can not see. It's all good, no offense taken or sorry to dissappoint.

Wow. 8O

Why don't you explain what you think the parable does mean rather than insult members AGAIN. I suppose you think you have impunity because you personally know certain long time members here don't you?

and here, I'll help you out. See what I highlighted in red? Now, was that not condescending and insulting? The guy got what he dishes.

I wasn't aware that you had posted any 'truth'.

Jeez, this idiot has seemed to press my buttons. lol

for your edification "in between moron", I have been a member of this board since nov 2004. There really aren't too many active users on this board that can claim they've been onboard for that long. Of course I'm going to have friendships with some of the other long time members.

I never claimed to be without sin, au contraire, I too, have this sinful nature and will continue to f-up everyday. Whether I diss people unintentionally or outright offend others intentionally, I simply claim that we are all sinners and can't help but do what we do best. Glad to see that I've ruffled a few feathers and that some of you are actually thinking about this in a positive way! Keep up the good posts. As for the seniority issue, I'm not here to make enemies or friends, just passing the time by spreading God's word whenever possible. I have no power over you but the Spirit will teach in His time and in His way. God Bless.

The most important message in the bible - ever known - is this: I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. That's what the whole bible is about, the big picture if you will, open your eyes. Once you have acknowledged this simple fact, that we are all sinners, you will be ready for forgiveness and go on your new journey with new found strength and hope and joy. Each day is a new beginning. We are eternal and will be as such whether in the presence of God or elsewhere. AMEN

In red..... usual cop out by those claiming to be "christians". Not willing to take responsibility for your own actions, you shift it off to "we are all sinners".

Not only do I take responsibility for my sins but those of Adam and Eve for it is because of our sinful nature that we are where we are today. The cursed world that we live in is a direct result of our not wanting to listen to God and do what He says. I confess my sins daily and acknowledge my wrongs whenever I see them. How about you?

Let me see now. You take responsibility for all sins back to Adam and Eve. I sense a Jesus complex.

The Bible is simple, you try to make it complex.
Have you read it?

Spiritual net worth = 1/(financial net worth + egoism)
I have no financial worth. Even if I were to win the lottery tomorrow, I'd probably give it all away, left once again to my meager means....but what the hell, I'm happy, I have a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, food on my table and a cleansed conscience by the blood of the Lamb. What else do I need?

Yes. But not for a long time - Has it been suddenly changed, a chapter added, a new exciting twist on a plot??? Well has it?

If you have a problem with me, then just ignore me. I call a spade a spade, and I really don't give a shyte if you or anyone else doesn't like my bluntness.
I take exception to you dissing Spade.

But responsibility is a heavy responsibility, Man!

So who would have gotten the ass kicking and who would have been the hero if the investments went bad & the first 2 lost money? Gotta think these things through.

^ How does any of that relate to the bible story you quoted in your original post?

Because the servant (slave) didn't invest the money his master gave him (even when the master didn't tell him to do so).... is a sinner?

How?

Because he didn't invest the money to get more profit for his master or because he spoke his mind and told his master what he thought of him and his POS reward of doing more work?

Glad to see that I've ruffled a few feathers and that some of you are actually thinking about this in a positive way! Keep up the good posts. Yeah.... the Spirit taught me that after 19 years of unanswered prayers and devotion to this God since childhood, it was all a complete waste of time that could be spent on more important things in my life. It taught me that I've wasted numerous opportunities and experiences in my life due to fear of punishment from an imaginary ghost in the clouds who couldn't give two rat turds about what we do on this planet or with our lives. It taught me that many of the elements of Christianity and other current religions stole images and concepts from older religions that these newer religions consider as mythologies.

Angels, Halos, Good Guys in the Sky, Bad Guys Underground all came from Greek Mythology, while the story of Jesus was a rip off of the story of Horus, the Sky God in Egyptian Mythologies..... it's all just re-worded mythologies.

Not only do I take responsibility for my sins but those of Adam and Eve for it is because of our sinful nature that we are where we are today.

Why?

Why should we accept this so called sin from Adam and Eve?

God create both of them and created them to be flawed from day one..... if Adam and Eve really did exist and if they really did sin, than that's because God designed them to sin, therefore it's God's fault, he's the one that created the situation and if God is truly all-knowing and all-seeing, he would have already known the outcome before it happened, yet he willingly went ahead and allowed humanity to be flawed and to commit sin....

..... and we're all expected to continue to take the blame and burden?

Because two humans ate a friggin apple they were told not to?

Oh, they ate it because they gave into temptation from a snake that represented the Devil.... yet God created that snake with that personality and knew damn well what would have happened..... the entire situation, if it ever even occurred in the first place, was a complete setup for entrapment.

The cursed world that we live in is a direct result of our not wanting to listen to God and do what He says.

He created this world don't forget..... he created us as we are and apparently he created us to be defiant and to question what is before us, which I guess is a flaw..... but that's his responsibility. He is all-seeing and all-knowing don't forget, so he should have known all of this was going to happen.

You can't just create a situation for your own amusement and entertainment and then blame the faults on those you put into that situation, wiping your hands clean of all responsibility.

That's a cop out and if God, with all his super powers and wonder, is copping out of his own responsibilities, then that's no God I'd want to worship and he can kiss my sinful ass.

But how does one listen to God and do what he says?

How do you know he's talking to us or to you?

How do you know what he says or doesn't?

Through the Bible?

A book written by flawed, sinful, mortal humans based on stories passed down from word of mouth for a long time after these stories apparently took place and those who truly witnessed all of this were long dead.... a book that has been revised and reinterpreted countless times over the centuries and has lost all logical meaning or sense.

What God wants or says is determined by other sinful and flawed human beings with their own subjective personal morals and interests.

You're not fooling anybody.

I confess my sins daily and acknowledge my wrongs whenever I see them. How about you?

When I do something wrong, I admit it, learn from my mistakes and move on.... I don't need the forgiveness or approval of some magical, judgmental vapor-ass in the sky or one of his child-diddling priests here on earth (as if they're some basis of a moral compass we should follow) if he doesn't like how I live my life, he should have spoken up sooner, or did a better job in designing me.

I am certain most Americans (and certainly we Canadians) consider the opening line of the Declaration of Independence penned by Jefferson in 1776 just pretty words to be ignored domestically and internationally-
``We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal...`

Don`t you think if Gawd existed, she would haved penned, `We hold these truths to be self evident that all humanity is created equal spiritually...`
