I really don't care what you believe man. If you want to think the there is a "made in Hickville USofA" sticker on each station in the dewline, fill your boots. It doesn't change reality.

shortmanx5, if you click the orange Quote button at the top-right corner of a post, it will automatically take you to a page that has the code to quote their post already written for you; you can just write whatever you wanted to say after the pre-written code, and there you go ... a beautiful, professionally-quoted post. ;)

lose the attitude and show a little respect or go home. I've had enough of the pissing contest you try to bring in to every topic you enter. I won't tell you again.

shortmanx5, again, I would strongly advise against challenging the Administration or the Moderators; cortez received a suspension today for doing just that.

I am not arguing with you, or discussing with you. You have been looking for a fight since you got here with your mean spirited, sarcastic one liners. If this sort of behavior is acceptable in New York, I strongly suggest you do your posting there. You won't get another warning.

Five drives me nuts sometimes with lefty idealism, so I remind myself he's an urban 18 year old.

And when you do look at Five's post's in that light it makes some of his posts hilarious.

This is my favorite one as of late…

I am not arguing for or against the program at the moment, shortmanx5, only offering my own (non-professional) prediction that a bit to enter the program at this time would be unsuccessful.

 - non-professional.... That's hilarious!

Hey Jay!

I didn't mean that line about Five to be as harsh a criticism as it sounds.......I'm glad 18 year olds can be idealistic....cynicism just doesn't look right on them.

Five is a bright, bright lad.

Oh I know that....We (probably) all enjoy Five's posts. We would miss our "colourful" friend if he left our ranks.

The only thing I wonder about, Five is....I thought the youth were supposed to be non-conformist and rebellious? What happened to, Five? :p

RE: What are we doing in

Just saw this:

Let’s get something straight however. You know the rules as well as I do that a soldier is not allowed to go on a public forum and give dissenting opinions on government policy or military operations and despite you being all pro about the mission, I find you come close to crossing the line when arguing politics with civies on a public forum.

That's the media you're thinking of. I have freedom of speech just like the rest of my fellow Canadians. I can share my views all I want. There is nothing illegal about posting on a forum, and discussing my views. Posting here is no different than a soldier posting a blog from overseas. In many cases the blog violates more laws of the Service Code of Conduct than any of my posts do. But thanks for the "heads up".

Didn't the Canadian Military close a Soldiers personal Blog from Afghanistan because he was posting vital classified information?

I know U.S. Soldiers in Iraq have their own personal blogs and websites for what's going on in Iraq because the Media doesn't report everything.

RE: What are we doing in

I said a soldier isn't allowed to argue against the government or the military mission publicly. They can't protest on what the military is doing while they are actively on duty on public forums.

Come on, you know that to be true and you know that a soldier could be charged reprimanded in some way for doing so.

If you mean "Freedom of Speech" as in a soldier being able to say how great the government policy is with the military operation, then I would have to agree. If you mean "Freedom of Speech" as in a soldier being able to say to his buddy privately that he thinks something stinks well as long as a ranking officer doesn’t hear him/her, then again I would have to agree.

Ok, you tell everyone here what the military would do if they saw an active duty soldier amid a bunch of protesters giving a dissenting opinion contrary to the government or military policy of an ongoing mission. Tell me and everyone here that his ranking officers would just say, “Oh, he’s just exercising his freedom of speech.”

Again, the soldier I would be referring to would be on TV, or in a photo in a newspaper, or some other public display with protesters giving a dissenting opinion. I don’t care how educated the soldier makes his/her case, it’s not going to go well for him or her.

Yes they did.

There is nothing against a soldier protesting against something he/she feels in unjust. The method in which they protest is controlled however. A soldier can not go to a peace march and stand up on the podium and denounce the very Government he works for. A soldier can come to a private forum and discuss the merits of a Canadian overseas mission with anyone he so chooses, provided no sensitive material is released, which I have never done. So in summary, nothing I have been doing here is illegal, the same goes for Jersay and any other serving members of the CF that may lurk on these forums.
