burrows will miss whatever is left of round one. big loss, he is one of the heart and soul players,
especially in plaYoffs, a player who can raise every part of his game for the playoffs,.

Right on! Don't forget Derek Dorsett- he's essential and has the meanness to boot!

i'm extremely pleased with the play of the twins, they have taken their games to another level, they
are pushing themselves hard, skating harder, and playing harder, they are the best players for the
canucks.
i am a bit disappointed in vrbata, he scored over 30 goals, best player for canucks all year, but he
hasn't done much of anything in any of these games, his game isn't more energetic, he isn't looking
like that mvp of the team at all, just the same speed, same effort, but this is playoffs, everyone
else, who can,has taken their games to a higher level, that is necessary in playoffs.

i'm watching 2nd overtime period in chicago, great game.

I'd say year in, year out, over 15 years on average, the Sedins have given damn good value.

yes, dorsett is a value for sure. the sedins started at a very average level, over the first couple
of years they inproved somewhat, then rose to a high level and played fine hockey for many years,
although in the playoffs they were often disappointing.
in the last two years or so i have not been happy with their play, it became very ho hum, they looked
like they were nearing the end of their time in the nhl, especially daniel, but the 'last half' of this season they
made a sincere effort to become the best on the team, maybe they even surprised themselves. they are
skating better than they ever have in all of their years with the canucks, this team doesn't have
high end talent, (maybe vrbata), so the sedins have again become the leaders, kudos to them, they
found a way, they made a difference, and i as a canuck supporter appreciate that effort.

horvat is the new blood, will be a big part of the future of the team, but he is still very young, and is
not yet the leader, but definitely gives a big contribution to the success of the team.

errespective of what they do in the first round, they have the beginnings of the new look, while still
looking to the sedins as their leaders, and that is good.

Things are looking up- Ottawa gets to play another day, St. Louis is beating the Wild and the Rangers defeated Pittsburgh. :)

i'm hoping for minnesota, so not so good from my vantage point. good for ottawa, and the rangers, and anaheim just scored
another goal, now leading 3-1 in the third, kesler scored, he is having a very strong playoff.

Isles are cooked!

Caps > Isles 5-1 in a complete blow out.

Caps superior size and strength wore out the Isles. The length of the playoffs only makes it worse for the NYers.

yes, it seems they just don't have the depth yet, they'll have to do some more recruiting.
tavares can't do everything.

It's a moot point, the Habs will be in the finals!

good, we have another game on saturday. cAnucks were the better team most of the night, but i thought
hiller was never going to allow a goal past him.

although everyone seems to trash canucks for other games, i thought they had lots of good shots on
hiller in the series, i was waiting for him to just let one easy one in, but not to be, he closed the door big time, he has been very good.

the sedins were the story tonight, Again they were the best players in the game. horvat again plAyed
very well, he is exciting for the canucks future indeed.

miller played very well, he is calm and cool, and wasn't overworked, did his job very well.

canucks defense has to work very hard, they had some hardships tonight, but got the job done.

saturday night in calgary, i hope canucks have a good turnout of fans there.

The Sedins don't get enough credit for how hard they battle in the corners. When they are on they will time after time come out with the puck. Not elbow-smash physical but really good at body positioning and boxing out opponents. In the third I even saw Henrik really nail a guy on the boards during a forecheck.

big news out of edmonton today.

peter chiarelli was named president of hockey operations and generalmanager todAy
(he is the recently fired gm for boston bruins, was jim benning's boss)

mcTavish will be moving to another area as well as kevin lowe, great move and one that had to be done.
they have a huge responsibility to all of these high end players along with mcDavid, and the rest of
the team to give all of them the best leadership in management as they possibly can.

the next thing we will see sometime in the near future is the hiring of a new coach. they might have
allready talked to tod mcLellan (san jose ex coach), or they might wait till detroit are eliminated
to see what mike babcock is planning to do.

anyway, the team is going in the right direction now, the team has improved, mcDavid will add A huge
boost to their allready top end young players, and we in the pacific division get to see this
new top draft pick play in our division.

i know he isn't even on the team yet, but no one in the world would suggest they they are not going
to choose him, they will.

the coach who guided them the last half of this season did a good job, turned them around and showed
them how to move forward. if there are no top nhl coaches available it won't hurt them to keep him,
but with the two above mentioned coaches possibly interested in being at the helm next season, then
they can't turn their back on either choice.

Methinks perhaps the Habs are beginning to look like they may be headed for the predicament Calgary might soon find itself in. :) :)

one game at a time jlm, one game at a time. ottawa will have to win 2 more in a row, just as vancouver
will have to, leaves them still behind, just like vancouver.

no way to tell who will win in either series, even if each team ties it up, if that happens then it will
a one game takes all series.
