Murray is being sorely tested by the Preds again and has already made some great saves as the Pens are having trouble getting out of their own zone late in the 1rst. 18 -13 SOG in favor of Nashville so far. Score tied 1 - 1 end of 1rst.

Matt is the only reason we are still in this game. Two PPs and nothing to show for it other then we somehow managed not to give up a short-handed goal to Nashville who lead the league in them. We've had a few flurries of activity but this has really been the Preds show. I have a feeling that the next puck that finds the back of the net will be the winner - just don't think that it will be my Pens who will get it there. They are not sharp.

Man what in the world would we do without Jake Guentzel. 10 seconds into the 2nd and the kid finds the back of the net for us. Rock on Jake

OMG............I'm just gobsmacked..........never ever saw this coming..........These are my Penguins.....and they chase Pekka from the net!!!! 4 - 1 Penguins

Oh me of little faith..........Hornquist scores and we're ahead 5 - 1

Oh wait.......the refs have their head-sets on. This goal will be called back on an off-side call. I feel bad for Horny.

MATTHEW MURRAY - MY STAR OF THE GAME

JAKE GUENTZEL - MY SECOND STAR OF THE GAME

Heck of a 3rd P for the Penguins........not so much for the Preds who had a few discipline problems and were set somewhat back on their heels with that flurry of goals by my guys. Pens win this one - 4 to 1 and we are off to Nashville to continue the series.

I give full credit to Mike Sullivan for his ability to juggle lines until he finds the right match or to energize the play...........it may have taken him two full Ps but he got it done for the 3rd and that is all that really counted in the end. I guess I am more shocked by the fact that Pekka was pulled and wonder if all the free time he had on the ice tonight gave him a false sense of security, after all the Preds played two solid periods of hockey.

Young Matt Murray from Thunder Bay, Ontario - a rookie goal-tender has more play-off wins then any other goalie in the league.

The Pens are saying that Bonino will be a game-time decision......but he was hobbling around on crutches today with a foot and leg protector to stabilize his leg, fps

Jake Guentzel, after scoring the opening and only goal of the first period is now but one away from tieing Dino Ciccarelli's all time record for most goals by a rookie.

That's some crystal ball PK has, spammy...........cause he predicted your guys would win this one and that is just what they did and in fine fashion. They were the better team all night and I am glad to see they did it at home in front of their obviously adoring fans. With just over 4 minutes left and the Preds ahead 5 - 1, I am conceding the win. :-(

I guess we can figure on Preds in 6 eh?

7 game series - 3 games played = 4 games left. :p

Did anyone see the crowds outside the Arena in Nashville? What an awesome atmosphere, Nashville the new hockey town...

I'd say the citizens of Nashville have embraced hockey to the max. Both inside and outside the arena and on the streets of Nashville, people are cheering on their Preds and it is great to see. Being in the Bridgestone arena must be like an out-of-body experience - the fans are so loud and so proud they actually make the cameras filming the game shake. I'm sure there are a few other teams in the NHL watching this and wondering how they could possibly get some of that enthusiasm going for their own teams. Love seeing the pride and support even if it isn't my team folks are cheering for. Cheer on Nashville.

Score at the end of the 1rst. 1 - 1
Preds on the board first but 47 seconds later Sid got one past Pekka
Good fast-paced game. Lot of chances at both ends of the ice. Neither team is laying back tonight.
Pittsburgh will start the 2nd with a minute and 30 some seconds of a PP

I truly hope PK keeps that Listerine thing going cause all it has done is to inspire Sid to answer the best way possible - on the ice with a puck in the net.

The Preds got two more by Murray in the 2nd. Pittsburgh out-shot the Preds but couldn't get anything by Pekka.

3 - 1 Preds end of 2nd
