Same here....before visiting Niagara falls Canadian side two years ago, we decided to have lunch in Buffalo first....
The American border guard was quite pleasant, we were even very satisfied with the tip he gave us where to eat...
But coming back.......we were quizzed....no matter how pleasant my daughter was talking to him....

Just don't travel with a pressure cooker, hide your bewilderment, obey, obey some more, tell the cop you were speeding because you're late for church, obey, drink nothing from cans, the free coffee and cookies at the rest areas are spiked, obey, leave your pets at home, obey, know what stores are at the mall in Tucson, write down what you ate for breakfast so you don't forget when asked, obey, have your passport ready and always always alwasys declare you $10K+ bankroll and obey and your next trip to buy gas, cheese and milk will be hassle free.

And Canadians cross the border by the tens of thousands and will do so. Heck they even cross the border to fly out of U.S airports to avoid all the silliness.

It's only going to get worse.

Just think of how many Canadians will cross the border when the Canadian currency doubles the value of the greenback.
