Wrong!

It was founded on no longer being someone's subjects and being our own boss's

Religion has nothing to do with the founding of America. Liberty is.
They found that a man would die for such a thing, liberty.
He would stand his ground, when the kings troops would flee
America was founded because men where inspired by a dream
Of liberty. Not religion. They won cause they wanted to be free,
And ready and willing to die for it. To be free men.

Liberty to think
Liberty of speech
Liberty from slavery
Liberty from dictatorships.
Liberty, in all it's form.

Not religion.
Liberty.

Some Americans are indeed very scary people.

Thanks for tipping us off but I think most people politically aware know these people but it never hurts to keep reminding us.

They want America to be a Christian nirvana just like the Saudi Arabia is for Muslims.....

Cathie Adams served as chair of the Texas Republican Party for the larger part of a year between 2009 and 2010. Now she's railing against immigration reform, citing her belief that it will lead to an identification system indicative of biblical End Times.

Speaking with Christian radio host Rick Wiles last week in an exchange first captured by Right Wing Watch, Adams decried a biometric scanning proposal present in immigration reform legislation already passed by the Senate, claiming that it would give amnesty to people from Muslim countries who "are not here with the best intentions for America."

Hey, you're gonna piss off all the Jews that fought to have Christ removed from Christmas and the Lord Prayer removed from schools.

It wasn't Muzzies who did that.

100% spot on according to these two sites - one conservative, the other libertarian:

quote: "The assault on Christmas nativity scenes, postings of the Ten Commandments in public buildings, etc, has been largely due to Jewish lawyers and organizations"

Christian Love Protects the Sheep, Not the Wolves | Founding Americans.org

"If there’s a war on Christmas, you just knew that it was the Jews behind the whole thing, running it all from their seats of extraordinary power in the banking and entertainment industries. But Burt Prelutsky can say that, because he’s Jewish:
That has changed, as you may have noticed. And I lay a great deal of the blame at the feet of my fellow Jews. When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists and the largely Jewish funded ACLU at the forefront. What makes them even more obnoxious is that, by and large, the Jews who are leading the crusade against what is, we should never forget, a national holiday, are secular"

As soon as I saw Glenn Beck's face of the front page I questioned the validity
of the whole thing
.

...but being a supposed former journalist...*cough*...you soldiered-on, open-minded and all, through that twinge of prejudice and you saw that the comments were actually there, afterall, (below the story that linked the original article that some of the meatheads were referring to in the comments section below, that you didn't bother read).

That about right?

No and it wasn't the Jews either. It was the PC crowd made up of atheists, lefties etc.

Um, me thinks that the original Pilgrims would likely disagree to some extent to your opinion. I think you could safely add "Liberty, to have your own religious beliefs" and not be wrong either.

JMO

Pilgrims (US), or Pilgrim Fathers (UK), is a name commonly applied to early settlers of the Plymouth Colony in present-day Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. Their leadership came from the religious congregations of Brownist English Dissenters who had fled the volatile political environment in England for the relative calm and tolerance of 16th–17th century Holland in the Netherlands. Concerned with losing their cultural identity, the group later arranged with English investors to establish a new colony in North America. The colony, established in 1620, became the second successful English settlement (after the founding of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607) and later the oldest continuously inhabited English settlement in what was to become the United States of America. The Pilgrims' story of seeking religious freedom has become a central theme of the history and culture of the United States.

The Puritans didn't found America. They were Brits and had no notions of an independent country.

I opened this thread out of curiosity to see why I should care what "Americans" think about Canada? All one has to do is read a few US forums to know that US opinion is generally irrelevant to Canada. America has become the fascist power in the world. Canada is what Americans want to be but are not - stable, free and respectable. Is Canada without fault? No. But Canada is not to be compared to America. America is frightening.

I know, right? I live between Washington DC and Baltimore. Washingtonians are utterly convinced that Baltimoreans spend their days eating themselves up with jealousy toward "the most powerful city in the world." Well, I spend a lot of time in Balmer (as they call it), and I can attest that most Balmorons (as they call themselves) get through entire weeks without Washington crossing their minds.

America has become the fascist power in the world. Canada is what Americans want to be but are not - stable, free and respectable.

Whatever gave you the ridiculous idea Americans want to be stable, free, and respectable?

Is Canada without fault? No. But Canada is not to be compared to America. America is frightening.

"Pain is scary."
