"PS....I also won't be voting Liberal. I will cast my vote to the NDP though it breaks my heart to do it. Give the Liberal another term and there won't be a province left to worry about."- I don't blame you like you say another term of the Liberals and there won't be a province left, but then with the N.D.P. the province will be intact but with a mortgage to about 98%.

As far as house guests go there must a few that are filthy rich, generous and stupid enough for the host to make it pay.

Since we know both these parties are crap, why not vote for the BC Conservatives. They sound kind of interesting. No one ever does what they say they are going to do but they at least want to preserve our health care and our land.

You know you really have started me thinking, I was going to vote for John Slater (Lib) and long time mayor of Osoyoos and VERY active in that community for 30 years, so with me it would be more a matter of voting for the man than the party, he has also operated many established businesses (so he may be able to show Big Gord a thing or two about doing the books) I will see if we have a Cons. candidate running locally and what his credentials are. Our riding has just been changed, last time I voted N.D.P. but I didn't get ANY satisfaction out of her although I sent her many emails. Before that we had a Liberal and he didn't answer his mail either. One thing I have learned over the years is you NEVER EVER ask your candidate to do anything that the leader of the party ain't comfortable with because if he even questions the leader, he's out of job and there will be a bi election. Which brings up another thing the electorate should demand- if a member gets ousted from the party, his pension is null and void.

I just did a little checking, from what I've read of their platform it, sounds good. Joe Cardoso is the local candidate and he appears to be about on par with the Lib, candidate Stater, BUT and this is where I'm confused, according to one web page he was the Liberal candidate here at one time (or over in the South Okanagan which is now part of this riding) so maybe when I get to the poll I'll just flip a coin, heads for Slater tails for Cardoso. Seems like this pair hangs out in the same circles, but who knows for sure?
Like I've said ad infinitum, I.P. methinks they are all tarred with the same brush. Have their hands in our pockets.

Not necessarily. If Clark had kept going BC would have been bankrupt, had no credit left, any businesses of any worth would be gone, and the Dippers would have doubled the provincial debt yet one more time.

Anyway, I found one independent on the list of candidates (5 candidates total), so I voted for the indie and STV. :D

If the NDP win this BC election I'm moving to Crawford Texas. Imagine that lame Carol James hosting the Olympics. If it was her choice from the start it wouldn't be happening.

BC has the lowest income tax in Canada, is one of the highest growth regions, is one of the best healthcare systems in Canada..etc. What do people in this Province want, a return to Glen Clark when the entire world prospered except BC?

I'd rather be waterboarded by Dick Cheney than go through 4 years of the NDP again.

They're are on the ballot alright, I voted for CArdoso the Cons. but held my nose while I did so- just had my fill of both Big Gord and the Banshee over the past month, both lying through their teeth.

I agreed and had said I thought the Liberals would probably take this. At this time it is 49 Libs / 36 NDP and looking tike STV going down.

I am pretty happy if it stays this way.. I could have made with a new Lib leader but as it was not going to happen I am happy with the results none the less.

Yep, it all worked out as good as we could REALISTICALLY hoped for. Four more years of competent corruption as opposed to incompetent corruption.

Turned out as I thought it would, although I am really not happy that the unresponsive, bombastic Gliberals have a majority. I changed my mind about not voting when I saw 1 independent on the list here. I voted for the critter.
Voter turnout was 55%, though. It was 59% last election. People are losing confidence in the gov't. I hope that the gov't pays attention to that and reacts accordingly, but I really doubt it.

Another majority for B.C. Liberals

Once again voter apathy has voted in a government but government doesn't see it that way. Libs think they are a super power. Vanc. Is. has always been an NDP stronghold and yesterday's vote didn't change that. My husband wasn't going to vote but since he was going out with me while we did a few other things, he came into the church with me and voted. Lots and lots of parking and no line up at all. We were in and voted and back in our car and gone in less then 5 min. They said they had not been busy. Oh well - life carries on like yesterday didn't happen. Like buying a bunch of lottery tickets - good for nothing but the fire at the end of the day.

Just like the 50s and 60s I.P. when Old Wacky got a majority every time, but it was always next to impossible to find anyone who voted for him. Big Gord ain't no choir boy, but Carole James just committed political suicide while every one watching knew it was happening. "8 YEARS, 8 YEARS, 8 YEARS, 8 YEARS" until everyone was sick of hearing it. How many scandals did he really have 3...4? As soon as ONE lie is detected then all credibility is gone. Campbell was smart, he just dwelled on his record and made no promises and didn't engage in character assassinations.

With only about 50% of the electorate bothering to vote, I would guess that if S.T.V. passed only about 20% would bother to get out to vote. A weird thought just struck me- the pollsters figure they can get an accurate sampling of the electorate with about 0.00001% of the voters being quizzed, yet people find the results suspect when 50% vote.

You Traitors.
I don't think threatening a MLAs pension for getting ousted from the party would promote independent thinking. Quite the opposite, it would force them to toe the party line regardless of what they or their constituents may want. I do think that if an MLA quits a party he/she could either sit as an independent or require a bi election to change parties.

Taxslave,
Who are you calling traitors? I see you are responding to JLM but you used an "s" on the end of the word traitors so ???
