Oh my landsakes:

And guess your saying 99% of Canadians just love trash shows!

IMO, and MANY others Canadian shows are trash and a waste of time.

Yes, I suppose I am. I think, on average, as best I can, that outside of the news, which here is either BBC or CBC, I watch maybe 5 hours of tv a week..and the bulk of those 5 hours is watching the only show I make a point of catching, "Coronation Street".

Television not important to the scheme of things!

I think I fainted

ON AVERAGE CANADIANS WATCH 40 HOURS OF TV A WEEK.

40 hours!! thats is important, its our people's main source of entertainment.

And we all love entertainment.
Which is where my point comes in. How many hours a week are you exposed to immigrants? Yet you feel they are taking away your culture? You spend how many hours in front of the tube? And yet you welcome that invasion of your culture...our culture?

Interesting snfu, nice sum up.

West, you say our programming is already 80% American but you want more? Why? We already get the best of it now and I have to agree with Andem, those other channels are just reruns of stuff we get up here anyway. Why don't you just get 'direct TV' or one of those? I know dealers in border towns will sell you one and just forward the bill to you in Canada.

But why would you do that. Your premise here is American content beats Canadian content. You certainly seem to have adopted the popular hyperbole of the media in question. You'd make a great editorialist on either side of the border.

I am actually looking into Dish Network in some dealers across the boarder who will forward the bill to me.

Would do it by paying a montly bill though, but having the dish and receiver in Canada.

I would still have ExpressVu because I like having CBC, CTV, and Global available to me.

I am not sure yet though, I still have hope for the nation's tv industry.

BTW 750 000 Canadians have illegal USA satellite dishes, because like me, they are sick of the way canadian tv is dictated.

Westmanguy - a Kudo to you

Since you joined this forum with your upbeat manner and your positive outlook you have tried to share many things with the people here.

I have seen very little positive in return coming your way and want to congratulate you for being one of the few who can take the hits you have without becoming personal, defensive or negative in any way.

Doesn't seem to matter the topic of interest you write about - the jabs and pokes are delivered - and you accept them and move on.

Well done - you are an unusual poster and I admire your confidence and outlook. You seem to be
able to find something good in so many things. I'm going to give you a rep not just for this post but for your attitude in general..... if I am still allowed to do so......

You are a pleasure to read. It's nice to see happiness and confidence still shining in our world these days.

No eh1eh -I have messed with many people but when I give a compliment I mean it.

Sorry you feel I have delivered a back handed insult Westmanguy.

Perhaps the hits you have been taking are rubbing off?

You take insults well, and compliments with distrust.

For that I am sorry. I meant well.

The rep is showing beside your name so at least they accepted that from me for you.
