Now is the time to look at how the US will become the dominant oil supplier on the planet in the next two years, because drilling is now allowed in the PROVEN reserves that OBUMMER had shut down in order to put the "*****" in country.

China can manufacture, but they need power to run those robots...in the cold.

But what if you bought high - like GE at $18 ?

You shouldn't shop while high...

Then you should have bought it yesterday at $15 to lower yer average cost, it's called dollar cost averaging. Here's a definition: Dollar cost averaging is an investment strategy with the goal of reducing the impact of volatility on large purchases of financial assets such as equities.

Good link and perspective. Thanks for that.

Rather shy on facts but lots of lefty dogma so I'm sure you would fall for it.

ummm (clears throat) what goes up, must come down, spinnin wheel gots to go 'round. la la la - sorry, a little off key. But I think I made my point.

But what if you bought high - like GE at $18 ?

That would be foolish unless you intended to hold it and hope for dividends or a split.
It is not a simple business and there are many theories on investing. SOme work better than others.

You are trying to explain to a 14 year old how the stock market works. It's a losing battle. He's too dense.

Would you take profits from stock equity at this time of year put to into an RSP and avoid capital gains on easy money?

Damn, some of the gold and copper stocks i'm following closely are down enough that i should be buying them now.

I'm a long term guy.

Hopefully this keeps up for another week.
