President Obama's relentless program of wiping out top al-Qaida leaders around the world through unilateral covert strikes claimed another victim on Friday, when Anwar al-Awlaki, the U.S.-born radical cleric identified as "chief of external operations" for al-Qaida on the Arabian Peninsula, was killed in Yemen as he rode in a convoy.
Awlaki's death followed the takedown of al-Qaida's No. 2 official, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, in late August, and Osama bin Laden in early May. Of course the USG overt and covert campaign knows no boundaries now. It has granted itself the right and privilege to kill in any country as long as they can claim the subject of the kill is a terrorist or has terrorist ties. They feel they don't even have to provide evidence of same. Seems that even ruimors are enough to "terror list " a subject .
And now that the USG is taking THIS kind of liberty as a given , one only has to consider the next step / level it will take on the grounds of their "terrorist" war. Like has been stated before......... This terrorist factor is a gift that just keeps giving and the USG is reaping benefits undreamed of without it.
Incredible as all the troops have to do is man some machines and not even get their hands bloody. The war by robot has begun. and with that in effect ......there is no limit as to what can be done now. In the name of "anti terrorism" or "national security" of course.

The government of Yemen could have arrested him and he would have been brought to trial whether in the USA or World Court.
Well at least you acknowledge a counter claim I'll give you that. Would that be the same way the Yemen government arrested OBL and handed him over to Clinton? It's not going to happen, there would be full scale revolt.
OBL was not in custody of Yemen's government. His youngest wife was from that country but she resided in Pakistan.
You guys all want to be world cops, running around and arresting people for acts of war. Best just to kill them in place. A day or two of bitching by the locals and then it goes away. Start grabbing people out of Countries and dragging them into court and you'll have even more acts of terror aimed at their release.

There should be no question at all about the legality, ethical and morality of assassinating those who have declared war and are now in the process of planning to kill more of us. Destroying its leadership by any means is the way to go. Why waste more live trying to get the alive. There are some pretty big rewards out there for various terrorist individuals, get a group of like thinkers and try it your way. I personally like our way, know it works.
