If you bought it in a NA supermarket it might still be a cuke.
lmao The storebought ones here are pretty bland but they vaguely resemble cukes in taste. Don't want to tell you what the zookyknees taste like.

What was life in Afghanistan like prior to the CIA formation of the extremist Mujahadeen?

Was it modern or was it a place of poverty and squalor?

Well women were enrolled in schools and were working away from home, literacy levels were improving, health and transportation infrastructure were proceeding very nicely, then Brezinski had a more profitable idea and millions had to die and the country was turned to ruins just to punish the Soviet Union and to clear the corridor for Caspian Sea oil.

How about saying the whole truth, it was Jimmy Carter (Democratic President), who really got the U.S. involved in 1979 to get back at the Russians. The rest of your statement is just your embellishment of facts.

Its counterproductive for either side to target civilians. I don't believe our news regarding this conflict. Both sides kill civilians in the crossfire. In general, neither side intentionally targets civilians.

I support the original stated reasons for Canadian troops being in Afghanistan, but I don't support imposing our culture and values on Afghans. The people responsible for 9/11 must be brought to justice. We have no right to impose our values and morality on Afghans.

BTW, the Taliban weren't our enemy until we attacked them. The Taliban had nothing to do with the events of 9/11. The Taliban refused to hand over members of al Qaeda who were staying in Afghanistan as their guests. Since we attacked the Taliban, they have every right to defend themselves. Every Taliban we captured should have been granted POW status.

I disagreed with starting a fight with the Taliban because I believe we could have settled our differences with them diplomatically. We should have been sensitive to their culture. The Taliban had an obligation to protect their guests. But they could ask their guests to leave. It was wrong to insist they hand them over or face the consequences and now we are involved in an unwinnable war. They can't win militarily, but they can outlast us. So their victory was inevitable from the beginning and our leaders should have realized this from the start.

I am well aware of the Taliban's oppressive philosophy. But they aren't that different from mainstream western viewpoints from 200 years ago. In time they will change and become more open minded.

The Taliban's viewpoint on women's rights has nothing to do with bringing those responsible for 9/11 to justice. We should have stayed focused on the primary objective, not got bogged down in a war to impose western morality on people who aren't ready for this change.

No, the Taliban were not responsible for 9/11. But they were responsible persecuting and killing Muslim people where ever they existed. The did destroy the icons, churches and people who practiced other religions. You sort of put the world in a damned if you do and damned if you don't position. Groups like the Taliban have to be stopped, we cannot just stand by and watch and do nothing anymore. Looking the other way does not work as was shown with Afghanistan. Hammas (never thought I would say that) did the right thing the other day by blowing up just about every trace of the Taliban who tried to take over Gaza. We do not have to convert them to our form of democracy, just give the people the right to live.

Many disagree with you. The Taliban can be defeated. I know you want them to win because they are fighting the US.

I am well aware of the Taliban's oppressive philosophy. But they aren't that different from mainstream western viewpoints from 200 years ago.

You can't be serious.

In time they will change and become more open minded.

I repeat... you can't be serious.

We are focused on theprimary objective. Nobody believes for one minute that Afghanistan is going to be a western style democracy.
