It might surprise you to know Talloola that country music got it's roots from the long suffering slaves of the deep south, like Leadbelly, who wrote and sang about their sorry state in life. This music was the early blues. Early country music singers like Pat Boone tried to emulate the black music but to no avail. It always came across as stiff and sterile. What did Pat Boone know about suffering at the hands of a slave owner?

These past icons left us songs, tunes, melodies, lyrics that we still whistle, sing and doodle and end enjoy.
