You've got to be kidding! Honestly, Sal just when you think you've heard it all.........you realize you haven't even skimmed the surface.
lol...yes, hey, capitalism at it's finest...see below:

The pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk, a leading producer of diabetes medications, signed Deen to a US $6-million deal last year to shill for its Victoza drug. Now obviously it’s in Novo Nordisk’s best interests for more people to need diabetes medication, but how desperately cynical do you have to be to sponsor a star who has built her entire celebrity around extolling the splendors of bacon-wrapped, deep-friend macaroni-and-cheese, and other calorie bombs, all of which are among the most damaging dishes anyone with diabetes should eat.
And if you were fine with that, given the new business it would drum up,

etc

Bacon-wrapped, deep-fried mac and cheese!!!!! My arteries are screaming at the very thought. Why would anyone cook let alone eat something like that - really? I just don't get it at all, Sal. No wonder the obesity rates keep rising in the good ole US of A.

heart attack on a plate

Paula Deene, check this recipe out:

Paula Deen's Krispy Kreme Bacon, Egg & Cheese Hamburger Recipe (my version)

  • 1 pound 85% hamburger
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 Tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
  • 4 slices American or cheddar cheese
  • 4 Krispy Kreme Glazed Donuts, sliced in half
  • 4 fried eggs the way you like them
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, broken in half
How To Make a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Krispy Kreme Burger

  • In a medium size bowl, mix hamburg, onion, salt & pepper, garlic powder, and parsley together, and form into 4 equal sized patties. Grill or pan fry them according to your preference. Place a slice of cheese on top of the hot burger to melt slightly.
  • On 4 plates, place half the Krispy Kreme Donut on a plate, cut side up.
  • Add 1 hot cheese topped hamburger to the donut, and stack the hot fried egg on top, followed by the remaining donut half. Press together lightly,or stick a frill pick or skewer through the center.
  • Serve with fries, Red Bliss Potato Salad or Deli Style Macaroni Salad.
  • Makes 4 HUGE Krispy Kreme Bacon, Egg & Cheese Hamburgers.
Watch Paula Deen Make Krispy Kreme Burgers!

Because private actors in a free market continue to employ him.

I know you hate that, but the U.S. is still a capitalist state with a great deal of freedom.
I don't hate anything except brussel sprouts. My question is if Paula Deen is going to be raked over the coals for something she did decades ago why isn't Alec Baldwin raked over the coals for doing the same thing yesterday.

Oh, I see. Sorry, I thought when you said
Why does Alec Baldwin still have a job?
you were asking why Alec Baldwin still has a job.

Silly me.

O.K. here it goes.. society has a double standard..

The n-word, "n*gger," is still pretty much taboo in public discourse. ... however, popularized by "gangsta" rap, music that use n*gger or nigga about every second word.

So why is there a double standard.. after all it's part of the English vernacular and is in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as a word.

Racism is everywhere, it's like prostitution, it's as old as time itself. Trying to police everyone with the language police is stupid, it will never change.. there will always BE bigotry, everyone is, in some form or fashion a bit racist.

Walter he has in many ways destroyed his career.

The difference here is her "sponsors" do not wish to have her endorse them. This is a "choice" on the part of her sponsors and they have every right to go with whom ever they think will make them the most money. They are leeches and feed off of the host giving them the most amount of blood.

This is not just about the "N" word, and it was not a decade ago, although that is what the "media" focused on. This is about many incidences over the years with her and her family, with people in their employment and she was "in your face" about it. She didn't just tweet some words in anger. The sponsors are bailing because the N word is the tip of the iceberg.

no "everyone" is not a bit racist there is no a bit... one is either a racist or one is not... everyone may have some prejudices but there is a vast difference between prejudice which can be in favour of or against and racism.

should that have been in purple? I don't think it is ever "okey dokey" to use a pejorative

I've no idea who the racist above would be, but I'd put money on which one
is going to get the "Munchies" first.

Yes, "prejudice" may have been a better choice of vocabulary.

Prejudice is a negative attitude you have over an entire group of people, often an ethnic group or racial group. (Internal) Racism is a kind of prejudice where you think one race is superior and all the others are inferior. It has to do more than physical traits than anything else.
