What pisses me off about the ferry is that I don;t get a break on it and I live here. They charge me the same As they charge a tourist.

I think the idea of a "break" is to attract tourists who tend to spend money. Maybe they'd give you a break if you were headed in the opposite direction and promised to stay away! :) :)

Atlantic Ocean is warmer. For any given latitude, the Atlantic Ocean has proved to be about 16 degrees F (9 degrees C) warmer than the Pacific Ocean off the U.S. coast – quite a difference.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, and yet the weather on the West Coast is much milder!

You are FOFS I (and many others) swim in the Salish Sea May to October and am alive to tell the tale.

Come on Bill he did good except for the water temperature. Actually Georgia Strait is a hell of lot warmer than Juan de Fuca Strait. Parksville has the warmest water north of California.

Good Morning!! On my way back to the Mainland this morning 6:13AM here now

Seismic. That island is heading North.

To bad it’s not heading south, we could be sitting pretty off the coast of California in 1500 years LOL

the strait of northumbria is 77 degrees in summer.

we are talking about a bridge that goes from the north coast of NS to Pei - over a sand flat that is 50 feet deep / versus a bridge that would go 60 kms over the Georgia Depression. Easily get sea states 4 plus out there - have flown search and rescue missions on many emergencies in these waters. Time is always critical because the water temps.

I have lived on this island for 30 plus years and believe it or not it is a topic that comes up every now and then. Generally held to be impossible/impossibly costly.

Now where we could use a bridge in the real world is from Sydney to mill bay.

that would would save lives and money

You have lived on that Island and you don't know that the mainland end of the bridge is in New Brunswick , not Novascotia?
And I have been there only once.

BTW.... have you ever been to Machu Picchu?

You stretch that bridge much more and it will reach from Hope to Pt. Alberni.

Re: Tsawwassen, BC

I do that run all the time sometime as much as once a month-we need a bridge.

Good luck with that.............the cost would be in the $Billions and nothing compared to the cost to put in the infrastructure on either end of the bridge. (If you haven't worked in the industry you have no idea)
