Senate panel narrowly endorses Mike Pompeo for secretary of state after Trump intervenes with key Republican

The president persuaded a committed GOP naysayer to back Pompeo, securing the backing of the majority of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee after the vote, if not Pompeo's ultimate confirmation, seemed in jeopardy only hours earlier. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) agreed to vote present, procedurally making it possible to send Pompeos nomination to the floor.

The vote was 11 in favor, 9 opposed and 1 voting present. Only 10 of the 11 senators who backed Pompeo were present in the committee room, making Coonss switch from opposed to simply present necessary to clear the nomination.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who had pledged to oppose Pompeo, tweeted about Trumps outreach and his newfound support for Pompeo just moments before the committees vote began. Pompeo had been expected to fail the panel vote but secure the support of the full Senate later this week. Pauls change of heart came after two Democrats facing challenging reelection contests this year announced they would vote for Pompeo even if the committee did not endorse him.

Federal judge orders government to continue DACA and accept new applicants, in toughest blow yet to Trumps efforts to end program

U.S. District Judge John D. Bates called the decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program virtually unexplained and therefore unlawful. However, the judge stayed his ruling for 90 days to allow the Trump administration to provide a more solid reason for ending the program.

A third federal ruling goes against DOJ in their attempt to stop the DACA program.

For the third time Jeff Sessions goes to court and says they want to end the DACA program because it is unconstitutional. For the third time he is told it is not unconstitutional.

This administration is seemingly unable to understand American law.

It's quite strange.

The Muslim ban is the opposite thing and is now being heard in the Supreme court - it will be their last decision until October, because government - and in that one Trump needs the SC to overturn the lower court who have determined that it is unconstitutional.

The garbage these right wing nutjobs believe has nothing to do with the constitution or science or common sense. This is all about their precious little feelings.

The Real Reason Evangelical "Christians" Don't Care About Trump's Sordid Sexual Behavior

Many theories have been floated in an effort to explain why so-called Evangelical “Christians” have turned a blind eye to Trump’s obvious (and likely continuous) sexual behavior, whether it comes in the form of harassment and abuse, paying porn stars for sex, or just good old-fashioned adultery, all of which would seem to rub against everything spelled out in the Good Book about, well, banging your neighbor’s wife... or something like that.
But the mistake people make in trying to explain this phenomenon is by approaching it in “moralistic” terms. The supposition being that as supposedly devout Christians these folks would naturally share a universal antipathy towards adultery that overcomes their burning desire to force women to bear children they neither wanted nor expected. That’s wholly misreading the roots of Evangelicalism.
The history of white Evangelical Christianity in this country can be summarized much like George Orwell summarized the totalitarian state in his seminal novel, “1984”:
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.
But it’s a little more like this:
If you want a picture of Evangelical Christianity, imagine a boot stamping on a woman’s face — forever.

No Walter, they are CRIMINALS who will use any trick in the book to avoid blackmail and jail or a death for treason. They stole both the democratic party and most of the republican party in an effort to totally rape the US and subjugate it for the powers beyond the crown, with a view to taking over, and enslaving the whole planet.

McCabe Told Agents To Kill Clinton Probe

Synopsis: Sarah Carter says that an email exists showing that fired former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe ordered FBI agents starting to work on the Hillary Clinton email server case to stand down. This was apparently the root cause for Clinton to escape – to date – all prosecution in the server scandal case.
