Trump touts amazing economic growth; economists view it as a blip

Although the vast majority of economists warn that President Trumps trade war will hurt U.S. growth, they say it temporarily boosted growth in the spring as foreign firms rushed to make purchases before the tariffs took effect.

Trump willing to shut government down (how would we know the difference?) is democrats don't vote for the Wall and immigration policy.

Its a tough ask given they have no plans for either and are unlikely to come up with one at this late date.

Like repeal/replace the basic problem is that the republicans do not know what they want.

They are the party of Russian Collusion and government obstruction - asking them to create and lead? Not likely.

I don't really see why they even need the Dems. They have the majority.

Immigration reform bill got voted down 121-301.

So I guess there are 301 Dems?

In meeting with Trump, N.Y. Times publisher warns president's attacks on journalists as 'enemy of the people' are danger to nation

The publisher of the New York Times said that he recently warned President Trump that his attacks on journalists as the enemy of the people are contributing to a rise in threats and could lead to violence.

I told the president directly that I thought that his language was not just divisive but increasingly dangerous, publisher A.G. Sulzberger said in a lengthy statement.

Trump revealed Sunday that he met at the White House recently with Sulzberger and said they discussed the vast amounts of Fake News. The president said he explained to Sulzberger why he was increasingly characterizing journalists as the enemy of the people.

Seems that Trump wants ONE "state run media" that flatters him Whether it is FACTUAL or not. Something akin to the NK model.

Free Press is critical to democracy..... Free and independent journalism is the place where the leaders in a democracy are held accountable.. The fact that Trump is so thin skinned and can't handle criticism.........is the basis for this condemnation of the media.Bullying them is his way ;to distract from other issues. The only style he knows sis t hit back......over the slightest slight or interpretation of a slight........whether it is appropriate or not. Most times it is NOT.......and is nothing more than bully behaviour.
If he does not get HIS way.....he bullys and threatens. He has NO patience for TRUE and effective diplomacy
Dismissing a reporter for asking a proper and appropriate question is as autocratic as it gets..

Trump says he's willing to meet with leaders of Iran 'anytime they want'

Last week, tension between the United States and Iran escalated after President Trump appeared to threaten military action in a tweet and Iranian officials vowed to resist any attempt to destabilize their country.

On Monday, Trump said he is willing to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani anytime, saying that he believes it is always better to meet with adversaries.

"No preconditions," Trump said of a meeting with Iranian leaders. "If they want to meet, I'll meet. Anytime they want."

Art of the deal.
Lie, cheat, steal. Is the order the same all the time or can it be mixed up?

For the amount he has given up already I hope his grand-kids have a 2 term arrangement already in place.
Hope I get to see the Queen bow to him before they are put out to pasture.

That's a good thing isn't it OB?
Not if you want the peasants to allow unlimited funding to the military as that is the only thing between the current paradise that the US is today and a stinking hell hole like Iran was from 1953-1979, when the US was there to show them their position in the global community. More or less like Venezuela is today with the help of the US alone.
