Twila, this is what Cliffy said.

I responded by asking for cites to prove his statement.

You said,

So, this is where we'll start.
---

Cliffy claims that Trump's sole purpose for taking office was to line his pockets and those of his filthy rich cronies.

I asked for proofs (cites) that showed he only ran for office to get richer, and helped his friends get richer as well. Your article from The Atlantic indicated that he made more money, but I could not find anything that said he ran for president for the sole purpose of lining his pockets, or the pockets of anyone else.

That is why I asked for cites. I doubt that any will be posted.

sounds like the sharing of opinions. I agree with Cliffy on this. Trump being trump does what trumps do. He'd sell Melania if he could...

Maybe, Murphy should prove otherwise for balance.

Not to me. It was a cheap shot, based on his dislike for Trump. I do not agree with his insinuation that Trump only had one purpose in mind when running for president. His statement was accusatory, and that is why I asked for cites to support his statement.

Proof of Trump monetizing the presidency are really not that hard to find.

Again, neither article offers any proof that Trump only had one purpose in mind when running for president.

Yes, he's made money, but nowhere in your articles does it state "His sole purpose was to line his pockets and those of his friends." Or words to that effect.

Federal judge blocks Trump’s third travel ban, setting up a legal showdown

https://www.washingtonpost.com/?wpisrc=al_alert-COMBO-econ%2Bpolitics%2Bnation&wpmk=1

The ban is prejudicial. IF it was truly about terrorism (and even then it would be nonsensical) they wouldh have to ban travelers form most nations. Every nation has had some form of terrorism.

In fact they would have to ban their own population. the US has home grown terrorism .

JLM, I did not make the statement that Trump's sole purpose for taking office was to line his pockets and those of his filthy rich cronies. Cliffy did. I read it and asked for proof.

If you make an accusation, as Cliffy did, you are required to prove that accusation.

The Trumpster loves himself and money. PEOPLE are either USEFUL or not useful to HIM and for him. Since his true colors are now on display for the world to see......seems his properties and income from them have been negatively affected. Many are not inclined to stay at or associate with anything "Trump"

Is this an opinion, or are you going to provide proof of what you posted? The Trumpster?

Based on what you've posted to date - the insulting language, unsubstantiated accusations and generally spiteful tone - I believe you are a low brow, hateful person. Do you have any friends?

YOUR personal attacks aside.......this is a discussion forum. It is filled with opinions, some with references, some with none. It is NOT a LEGAL forum (or legal court ) as if it were .......you would have been thrown out of court many times for prejudicial biases, and attack style commentary. If you disagree......just say so and say why. Don't reduce yourself to a poster ashier. This is NOT an anger management forum either.

Now.....back to topic . If you are so enamored with Trump and HIS style.........please say why.......and how is it productive , constructive and making "america " great again. IOW.....MAKE YOUR CASE WITHOUT attaching other posters here. This forum is NOT about the posters......it is about the topics......

this is actually a fun and informative place to come........with many smart posters.

back to Trump and his style etc.........IF anyone can support a person that is verbally cruel to a person with cancer it speaks to the character of his supporters....... Just like making excuses for his behavior and attitude to women . Trump has NO scruples and thee is NO LOW that he will not descend to to get HIS way or self congratulate himself whether HE deserves it or not........ and mostly he does not. Let's see your defense of this unethical immoral narcissistic destroyer.

Trump would and does attack others as well........instead of making clear and definitive/constructive policy statements of his own.

He has another lawsuit against him.......for being sexually inappropriate to a female.( another one that makes how many women that he has been inappropriate /ABUSIVE to)

Most of all he has NO clue .....even now as to what he is doing. His motivations re the issues he wants to "tear up" have a distinct personaland biased flavor to them. as in destroying anything that Obamas created..... His obsession with Obamas started when Obama became a areal contender for the office. He is threatened by Obama as Obama is everything that Trump is not. Classy, Intelligent, humanitarian, logical , factual, not emotional and reactive, not biased. ..etc.constructive leadership skills. The kind of traits that money can't buy. and that irks Trump like crazy as that is what he wants.......and cannot have. no matter ho much money he has.

I have asked you and others to provide proof of what you post. You don't. As well, your insulting language and pejoratives do not contribute to any discussions outside of a school yard.

You seem to be the one with anger issues. When I asked for proof or cites, you respond with thumbs down or suggest that I'm the one with problems. Attempting to turn the argument around will not work with me. I have dealt with similar issues like this for years. You have to learn that you cannot make unfounded accusations without someone calling you on them. I did. Now, you are angry.

I believe that you are angry because you have been caught repeatedly trying to slag Trump. Your language and tone constantly give you away. I also believe that you are angry with yourself because you cannot prove what you have posted. I think you enjoy insulting him. You're always doing it. Finally, I believe that you are hateful because you use insulting and belittling terms for President Trump, saying that he has mental problems. In short, you're bullying. If you cannot provide proof of these, don't post them. They become lies. You will be called on them.

That said, if you wish to express your opinion, try this.

I think... I believe... My take on this... etc. Understand?

source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_accusation

When there is insufficient supporting evidence to determine whether an accusation is true or false, it is described as "unsubstantiated" or "unfounded". Accusations that are determined to be false based on corroborating evidence can be divided into three categories:

  • An allegation that is completely false in that the events that were alleged did not occur;
  • An allegation that describes events that did occur, but were perpetrated by an individual who is not accused, and in which the accused person is innocent.
  • An allegation that is partially true and partially false, in that it mixes descriptions of events that actually happened with other events that did not occur.

NO one here is under any OBLIGATION to provide "proof" to you just because you demand it. It is a discussionforum whee all opinions of the TOPICS are fair. Opinions about posters are NOT.

Most of us provide links to info IF available. That is not PROOF , it is a reference point. PROOF , as in hard proof is not a requirement. It is great to stick to FACTS as much as one can.......but in the era of FAKE NEWS or FAKE FACTS running amok out of Trumps mouth.........we are all in a very unusual situation........as trump supporters follow his cue.......with the FAKE NEWS FAKE FACTS slogan. Let them provide the REAL FACTS to justify their slogans.

FAKE NEWS!

It's somebody else's money, defrauded from investors during four bankruptcies and from contractors on a day-to-day basis over years.
... and don't try to propagate the fantasy that he's some sort of a self-made man, either.

FBI Reportedly Found Evidence Tying Obama Admin’s Uranium Deal With Russia, to Clinton Foundation

A new report from The Hill suggests that the FBI gathered evidence of possible illegal activity surrounding the Obama administration’s 2010 uranium deal with Russia.

With the help of an informant in Russia, the FBI has gathered documents, emails, financial records, and eyewitness accounts that officials in the Russian nuclear industry were involved in “bribery, kickbacks, extortion, and money laundering” in hopes to strengthen Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business in the U.S.

The report also claims that the Clinton Foundation financially benefited from these Russian nuclear industry officials while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State.

Per The Hill:
http://thehill.com/policy/national-...ore-obama-administration#bottom-story-socials

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.

President Obama’s Department of Justice began investigating these Russian officials back in 2010 and carried on with its investigation for four years without informing Congress or the general public. Despite the ongoing investigation, the administration proceeded with the deal, giving Moscow 20% of America’s uranium, which was approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.

During the 2016 election, then-candidate Donald Trump and his supporters pointed to this deal as proof Secretary Clinton committed pay-for-play while she served at the State Department. A spokesman for Clinton said she herself had nothing to do with the deal and that the State Department official who did handle it said she “never intervened … on any [Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States] matter.”

Thank gawd that we have Trump getting rid of all of the hate. He's Albert Schweitzer, Mother Theresa and Yoda, all rolled into one.
and then some. (sarcasm alert). He FOSTERS hate by virtue of his words and deeds. HE DEFINES RAGE and HATRED. He is like a little boy that is a bully to others just to get attention......because he is so positive attention starved. or believes he is.That pathological need to be liked.

If you make a statement, be prepared to back it up. Don't use childish language. If you post a story from a reputable site, it will present your POV better than calling someone a 'mental case' and 'the Trumpster'.

Opinion versus Fact: Opinions are beliefs that generally have nothing to back them up. Example: Nazi Propaganda campaigns used suggestive and belittling language to convince the public that Jewish people were inferior. But there was no evidence.

The media differentiates between opinion and fact by labeling opinion pieces as such. Typically, "the following are opinions sent in by our readers". Or, "the following editorial is the opinion of (broadcaster) and does not necessarily represent the views of this station".

That is because opinions can get you into trouble. Unfounded accusations can be dangerous too. Consider this as a thread - "OB is a Pedophile". No proof. Just words. You hope that a mod will yank it down, but what damage could that do to you? How would that make you feel? Even after it has been removed, the people who saw it will bring it up again.

Here is a handout from Manhattan Community College. It's titled "Knowing the difference between facts and opinions".

http://www.bmcc.cuny.edu/lrc/studyskills/factsandopinions.pdf

I see a lot of this in the thread.

Opinions can be based on facts or emotions and sometimes they are meant to deliberately mislead others. Therefore, it is important to be aware of the author’s purpose and choice of language.
And the reason why I suggested that the title of this thread should be, "Why I Hate Trump". That's all this thread is. A collection of insults, slagging and unfounded accusations, with the odd news story.

As long as it is FACTUALLY accurate and can be corroborated........ then the facts are the facts.

Don't belabor your point. Get over yourself and deal with the TOPICS. Behaving like a Trump copy cat is not going to win you any Brownie points. ONE Trumpster is enough. when the Trumpster EARNS my respect......I will speak of him respectfully. He is nothing but an immature rich kid that turned into a rich female abuser. and racist. to whom only ONE thing matters and it is HIM. Those are OBSERVABLE FACTS.......to any reeasonable person .
You suport him........that is YOUR choice.

I do not support him. He's the US president. I'm Canadian.

You are a broken record of hate and childish language. Are you proud of yourself? Do you think that people care to read what sounds like the anger of a high school child? You should be embarrassed with these insulting, immature posts. Rethink how you present your opinions.

Perhaps you should talk to someone about your anger. You sound like someone who could use some help.

270 days and counting!
