Also deporting anyone not born in Canada, banning all religions except fundamentalist Christian, Making everyone work until age 75 before getting OAP, firing healthcare workers. And horrors, eliminating the carbon scam tax.

Doesn’t matter if he promised them, the finger will get pointed that he’s gonna do it regardless of reality, oh, & giving guns to the children, and outlawing abortion, because those are the standbys that always get circled in the last week of every election federally in Canada.

Have we collectively forgotten the endless stream of scandals, boondoggles and incompetent decisions the government of Justin Trudeau inflicted on us over nine years?

Yes, Trudeau’s gone. New Liberal Leader Mark Carney is being hailed as a miracle worker who will single-handedly sweep aside all the problems this country is facing. He isn’t — and he won’t.

Carney’s cabinet is populated with the exactly the same people who brought us bad government.

Setting aside the ethics breaches by Trudeau — the trip to the Aga Khan’s private Caribbean island, the WE charity fiasco and the SNC Lavalin mess — there are other examples of bad government.

There was the ArriveCAN scandal, which in 2020 saw almost $60 million spent on a sole-sourced contract for an app that’s now not used and which a private developer said could have been developed over a weekend for a fraction of the price.

This is the same government that massively increased immigration while failing to build housing. In 2023, it allowed almost half a million immigrants to arrive in this country with no plan to house them. Then it expressed surprise when newcomers were forced to sleep on the streets or in church basements.

This is the government where out-of-control spending has massively increased the size and cost of the federal bureaucracy. The size of the public service has ballooned by 42% since Trudeau’s 2015 election.

A report by Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux pointed out that personnel spending within the federal government reached a record high of $67.4 billion in 2022-23.

Meanwhile, government spending on outside consultants skyrocketed to more than $15 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year. And let’s not forget the jolly green slush fund. Sustainable Development Technology Canada violated its conflict of interest policies 90 times, according to Auditor General Karen Hogan, and awarded $59 million to 10 projects that were not eligible and frequently overstated the environmental benefits of its projects.

(look at all the smiling people in the background in the above picture)

Meanwhile, we (by we meaning that those that voted Liberal the last three consecutive elections) shamefully nickel-and-dimed our armed forces and our defence spending is an international embarrassment.

The leader may be different than the one that handpicked him, but his cabinet isn’t. Let’s not rinse and repeat.

Back in his heyday, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was basically the Great White North (West of Manitoba)’s golden boy. Sadly, however, Trudeau's fall from grace has been swift in geological time measurements anyway.

In 9 & a 1/2 recent years, many scandals surfaced, highlighting Trudeau's shady side, including rampant affair rumors that rocked his marriage to his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.

Eventually, things got so bad that the disgraced politician announced he was resigning from his role as Prime Minister. "I have always been driven by my love for Canada, by my desire to serve Canadians, and by what is in the best interests of Canadians (?) -- and Canadians deserve a real choice in the next election. It has become obvious to me, with the internal battles, that I cannot be the one to carry the Liberal standard into the next election," he told a gaggle of news reporters outside his home in Ottawa eventually.

All impromptu Canadian Tire errands aside, Justin Trudeau's transition to private life reads strangely pedestrian -- especially for someone who reportedly has an estimated net worth of $96 million.

Eventually, Trudeau intends to make a home for himself in Montreal. The advisers also noted that Trudeau has been offered two book deals and even a documentary project about his life, though it's still unclear what, if anything, he will actually choose to participate in.

The RCMP was assessing whether Trudeau broke the law in 2018 by pressuring Wilson-Raybould to permit SNC-Lavalin to negotiate a special settlement in a fraud and corruption case, which would allow the construction company to avoid a criminal prosecution. At issue at the time was a fear that there would be political fallout if the company ended up having to go to court.
Gov. Gen. Mary Simon announced Friday she approved the termination of two Order of Canada members after they were found guilty in separate cases…one of which is convicted paedophile, and the other…?

The other is SNC-Lavalin CEO Jaques Lamarre, who was made a member in 2005,was found guilty of collusion and corruption in relation to the firm’s work in Libya with Saadi Gadhafi, son of former dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
Recall Trudeau’s infamous comment in February 2019 that the allegations in the Globe and Mail story that broke the SNC-Lavalin scandal — were “false”.

In fact, they turned out to be true, that Trudeau had, according to the federal ethics commissioner, broken the conflict of interest act by pressuring then attorney-general Jody Wilson-Raybould to grant a deferred prosecution agreement to the Quebec company.
What did Trudeau get for his part in this? A government pension index to inflation for life, exponential growth of his portfolio during COVID, and Katy Perry? Anyway, Lamarre, who served as CEO for SNC-Lavalin between 2001 and 2009, a Quebec disciplinary council pulled Lamarre’s licence and fined him $75,000 last January for his involvement with the SNC-Lavalin-Libya scandal.
