Didn't the American forces enter the war to a limited degree in Italy in 1942 ?
America was aiding the allies covertly before 1942.
Yes, well folks live in their little bubbles and the odd asinine comment suddenly becomes fact. The facts are this, the PM is pulling the F-18's for optics, but my guess is that he will sacrifice our foot soldiers in a heartbeat and spin that.
Pisses me off when people make generalizations like this. Sort of like Boom shooting his mouth off about the Canadian Military. It comes from a lack of knowledge. While our military is small, they have risen to every challenge and made great sacrifices. And will continue to do so.
Canadian military has a reputation as one of the best fighting forces in the world. It's just a shame they are held back and impeded by pussies in Parliament.
I would like to know who is in charge of the operations of the coalition in the Mid-east. From news reports it seems like every member of the coalition is under orders from it's home government. If that is the case it's a bad scenario. They would need a Commander to oversee all operations and evaluate when changes in operations need to be made.
The Liberals are not making a decision of how to best participate in the coalition because circumstances keep changing. If they are waiting for circumstances to stop changing they will never come to a decision and will do nothing. They should be able to jump in and change operations with the changing circumstances. That would seem to make sense.
I hear that a high ranking military advisor has put forth a recommendation for 'black ops' forces. I think that's the most sensible suggestion yet. But the ***** government is afraid they'll get hurt! Jeez!
