Northern Ontario,
You had to go and ruin Cliffy's perfect dream world.....but I suspect he'll close his eyes plug his ears and go Nah nah nah.......

I'll bet he never heard of blinding a dog in one eye so that he would chase deer or moose in a circle back towards the hunter instead of going to the trouble of training it.......

Not just cliffy. There are other "morons" on here that have the same "attitude" as cliffy and trudeau.

As long you don't count the North American megafauna extinction caused by indigenous people of course.
I'm quite aware of that. In fact the Prairies grasslands existed largely due to the fact that the aboriginal population regularly conducted burnings of the grasslands to promote grazing lands for the bison. It seems that humanity wherever it has existed has tended to manage the environment to suit its purposes.

Research? Hahahahaha! Most of the groups of Cree did not have large gatherings other than social occasions. Nehiyawak people (which i am not from) had the largest summer gatherings.
Other than that i have no intention of attempting to school a know it all.

Actually I doubt you are capable of schooling anyone as you seem incapable of providing any sources that refute any of my statements. If you wish to be happy in your ignorance of your own culture suit yourself.

What are you talking about? You do realize it was the Dutch that introduced scalping and bounty hunting, right. The only thing we know about history is what the Europeans wrote. The oral history of the people was quite different.

But to Trudeau's point, when the first explorers came here there were vast forest (less than 5% of old growth remains) there were massive herds of buffalo, deer, elk, etc., salmon runs that numbered in the millions, Cabot wrote that his ships could not move through the waters because the cod were so thick. The Europeans raped paradise and put up a parking lot. Compared to the Europeans, the indigenous people lived in harmony with nature.

Generally speaking, the likelihood of being subject of a violent death has gone down considerably and if you look at the trend since humanity's inception, some of the most violent times were during our hunter gatherer phase. This is more or less, the type of primitive lifestyle you might find with indigenous peoples prior to colonization.

In fact, you had a higher chance of being raped, tortured or mutilated during the hunter gatherer phase than if you were one of the targeted demographics during WW2.

The pacifying factors of our society were trade or commerce, liberal democracies and the humanitarian period known as the great enlightenment (when contemporary science came into prominence).

Are you saying you weren't going to finish that thought by referencing fossil fuel subsidies?

It seemed so plausible at the time.

I've seen more dead cars and deceased snowmobiles scattered around Res houses all across the country than in junkyards. The only thing that hides them are the massive billboards put up all over Res lands to earn some "workless" income. Guardians of the environment? ... Yeah. Right.
Not all us Injuns are drunken, lazy, and careless you know. Turnip.
If you can find a "dead" car where the Oliver/Osoyoos clan are, it is likely having surgery and will be revived. There are examples like that all over BC. North of them is the Okanagan clan and they had a lumber mill, now they have gas stations, stores, a woodworking shop, etc. CDNBear is a welder and I would make a bet Mrs. Bear keeps their yard and home in decent shape as do I, my parents, my sister lives in North Van in a overly pricey (in my opinion) condo 4000 stories up in the air (a bit of exaggeration).

The money spent on improving the environment is wasted. Everyone KNOWS, if we all recycle, stop cutting down trees and quit smoking tobacco the environment will be as clean as the driven snow!

My post was not directed at you but it seems we are in agreement in this instance.

You can certainly bet if indigenous people of the Americas outpaced Europeans in technology they would have been landing on European, Asian, and African shores doing the same thing.

You're a disgrace, calling yourself an "injun".

And not educating yourself properly on the crimes of the wealthy elites against the natives.

wasted because the establishment aren't interested in anything but profits. protecting the environment and keeping toxins out of the air and water usually contradict that.

I was being sarcastic, you poor, hapless turnip.

meh You know extremely little about me and next to nothing about reality. If I were you, I would stick to drinking beer and keep my mouth shut and my fingers off the keyboard. But then wisdom is not a trait you possess, so here you are.
