Trudeau for P.M.

Hell, why not?

The country is teetering on the brink.....might as well shove it over.

Like I said, Trudeau inherited all his mother's brains.

Oh, and you're a troll.

:)

Oh....just to remind us all of what a bunch of idiots the Liberals truly are: Mark Steyn from a September 2002 column....read the entire column, its worth it!

The Liberal Party of Canada hasn't had an original idea since Pierre Trudeau took his post-resignation vacation in Siberia, and M. Chrétien, whatever his efficacy as a small-time largesse-dispensing ward-heeler, has never troubled himself to form anything approaching a political philosophy. So, ask him what's to blame for September 11th, and he falls back on that old standby - "global poverty," the growing "inequality" between rich and poor.
Let's spell it out: There's no such thing. The story of the last 30 years is the emergence of "a new world middle class," as Professor Xavier Sala-i-Martin calls them in his study The World Distribution Of Income. This class is made up of some 2.5 billion people in the developing world, whose standards of living now approach those of the West. That's to say, roughly half the people in the developing world are doing pretty well economically. As Virginia Postrel wrote in The New York Times recently, taking the world's population as a whole, in 1998 "the largest number of people earned about $8,000 - a standard of living equivalent to Portugal's."
Why hasn't the Middle East shared in this economic growth? Because they're failed states run by kleptocrats who govern by clan and corruption and whose starting point is to exclude half the population - the women - from the economic life of the country. If M. Chrétien wants to give Paul Wells's salary to President Mubarak, that's up to him but it will have zero effect on either poverty or terrorism.
This is obviously too much for our Prime Minister to take in. The last time he was in the region, you'll recall, he didn't even know where he was. But let's take his broader point, the underlying assumption that there's some kind of accommodation you can reach with these guys so that they'll cease flying planes into Manhattan landmarks. What is it the Islamists want?
In the words of Hussein Mussawi, former leader of Hezbollah: "We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you."

I said it before, Trudeau for PM. We need new blood, young blood. The older farts are out of touch with reality and we don't need the Harper style dictatorship. We created this mess and now it is time to let those with the energy and will to fix it. Old guard Liberals and Conservatives are the problem. Time to get out of the way of the young.

You can't be serious, Trudeau is a dumbo, the highest level of education he has is a teaching degree. He has absolutely no experience in achieving anything!!
He rides on his fathers coat tails..

I can agree with you that maybe we need some young blood in Parliament, but I want to see young blood that are educated and have shown they can achieve business objectives.

Where is your sence of reason and objectivity anyways ??

We don't need more capitalist greed, one more technological gadget. We need to step back and stop consuming our life support system. We need to start living within our means, start living sustainably. Relentless economic growth is killing us and we need to get those who propagate it to get out of the way. A college or university degree does not make someone intelligent. We need smart people, people with the ability to think on their feet. Maybe Trudeau is not our man, but he can't do any worse than the crop of idiots we have running the show now.

I know it's fun to be extremely angry and uncompromising around here, but am I only one who doesn't think either the Liberals or the Conservatives are the worse thing to ever happen to our country and that the government isn't driving the country to hell?

No. What are our alternatives? Our political system is in disarray and corrupted beyond fixing. We need a revolution - not a violent one, but a grass roots, start all over one. Redesign government. Write a constitution and let the public vote on it before it is enacted. We need to get back to democracy and away from this corporate dictatorship.

I agree that we need to change our constitution but I don't think our current system is so awful to say it's beyond hope. It seems to be working remarkably well at the moment.

That is exactly what Americans thought about their country. So, the Tea Party was born, in exactly the same way as you describe: non-violent, grass root and respectful of the Constitution and their Founding Fathers.

Correct me if I am wrong, Cliffy, but weren't you one of the first and most vocal supporters of those who referred to them as "Teabaggers" knowing fully well the disgusting implication. Did you not agree with Nancy Pelosi's description of the Tea Party as "astro-turf"?

And now you want the same kind of 'revolution' in Canada?

Brink of what?

We are doing just fine.

Ground work laid out by the Libs under Jean and Martin left us secure for the comimg years of debt that the cons are pouring on us.

At least Justin's idiotic statement is verbal.

Which trumps his pappa's most intelligent statement, which was expressed in sign language.

I agree we can't do enough for those who serve, we gotta make things better for those in need.
We all have to send a clearer message that we want our protectors looked after better so the sacrifice they make is recognized and they looked after if they need it.
I think if anyone is going to listen, it will be the Conservatives more than any of the other parties!!

On a side note, a bit off topic tho, what is your opinion of not all Canadian ethnic groups not being equally represented in our military ? This always seems to annoy me !!!
Check and see what countries they originally emigrated from.

Then see how many of these countries use their Military to actively suppress the population thru violence - death squads - shooting / beating protesters. See how many disappear in these countries - Done by the Military/Police -Security Services

Next see that in many of these countries the Military is filled with many that are less educated. Not the best career choice.

Those are 2 significant reasons that you may give some careful thought to.
