I'm talking about how the Liberals handled the refugee crisis. Before they were elected, they weren't handling it because they weren't in power. You could say that the Liberals rushed handling of bring refugees into the country were caused by their wanting to keep an election promise, but it wasn't caused by them wanting to get elected because they weren't elected.

Nevertheless, whether you eventually begin to understand basic chronology is not my point. Even if you take a cynical look at it and say it was a political move to keep a campaign promise, the urgency I was referring to was the people escaping war and chemical weapons, living in refugee camps for years, drowning as they made their way to Europe.

Exactly. The emergency hasn't been mitigated much and there's still an urgent need to get help to the people still in refugee camps.

The First refugees to arrive greeted by Trudeau at Pearson airport were already approved under the Conservatives.

Facts are cool.

All that crying isn't going to do you any good. Bootstraps, boyo. Get to work. If Trudeau treats you like less than dirt, wipe those tears away and make lemonade.

Do you think I was speaking of me? I'm not that self-centred or in need of attention - unlike common internet pests - thus no need to snipe from the bush. Better luck next target....

The first gifts they got were parkas. I wonder what they thought of the scarves and hoods that were included??

That's the spirit. Positive thoughts will get you out of the rut that nasty mean prime minister put you in.

Probably "these scarves and hoods could be better put to use ensuring every Canadian has a family doctor" and then "how cares if the national anthem is sexist?" Those Syrian refugees hate Trudumb for not putting Canadians first too.

What that statement means is that Trump would subject minorities including Jews, homosexuals, non Aryans to unspeakable torture and suffering up to and including putting people in the gas ovens and doing cruel medical experiments. I suppose it may be within the realm of remote possibility but before you make such a statement you best have irreputable proof there, Buster!

He would do worse.

Don't let him near any nukes.

Ok, where are your "facts?"

From what I've been able to find (and its very little 'cuz its the Liberals don't 'cha know) read and get information on, the Conservatives were going through the refugee camps and vetting individuals there. The Liberals went to hotels. Don't know how much "vetting" went on there!! The 25,000 that came to Canada weren't from Refugee camps - notice how well dressed they were?) for the most part and weren't vetted very well (if at all) either. In fact, how could they have been since the timing was so short it would have been impossible to vet them properly.

Prior to the election 2,300 Syrian refugees had resettled in Canada with another nearly 10,000 in the process of application as of Oct 2 2015.

Post election November 17(this is where it gets humourous) we saw this problem.

On Nov. 17, the UNHCR began sending out thousands of text messages to refugees who were already registered with the agency. Some of the cellphone numbers had changed, meaning not every text may have been received.

Of the 41,050 texts sent by UNHCR to ask refugees if they were interested in resettling permanently in Canada:

28,560 replied, and were contacted by phone to see if they would come in for an interview to see if they qualified.

3,049 actually showed up to UNHCR for those interviews.

1,801 had been referred to Canada as of Nov. 30 for follow-up interviews with Canadian visa officers.

So yes, what did happen to the vetting?
