erm, Trudeau's net worth is likely close to $2 million or more. Do you really think he is worried about his kids? lol

I paid taxes. No-one paid for the care of my kids except me and hubby and we do not have $1 million let alone the amount Trudeau has.
Oh, but it goes with the job. uhuh Along with a ridiculous amount of pension, perks, etc. that are way past those of regular people.
It is welfare for the rich.

The Americans spend 1.4 billion dollars to keep the president and his family safe. The British spend around 50 million, By comparison we spend a pittance.

I haven't been able to find anything on the news so far about trudeau and what he plans to do for the country polices, plans etc (the middle class tax cut has not been expanded on much, and that's it so far)..... Besides the nanny thing, his photo shoots and him greeting people at the airport, I feel we gave the job to some kid who is just enjoying a "free ride" as a celebrity.

So?
The USA has at least 10 times the population. The UK has twice the population. Besides, just because the neighbours do something does not mean we should, also.

How old are you Johnny? I'm sure Justine Trudeau is older than you. What motivates you Johnny? Is it jealousy?

Well, for one thing, this is the man we made responsible for the nation's security and the nation's economy. I think it would be best for everyone if he didn't have to worry about his children.

No one is insisting he pay for his security. He has the RCMP for that. People are questioning how he can say one thing and do another. He criticized Prime Minister Stephen Harper for giving a childcare subsidy to the rich. He went so far as to say he didn't need it and neither did Stephen Harper because they are rich.

Prime Minister Trudeau had one of these child care workers already on his payroll before he became PM. He is a millionaire, he also makes somewhere around 400 G's a year give or take.

And to be quite honest, I don't care much and wouldn't, if he hadn't of shot his yap off when he was in opposition.

All he has to do is not take the route Jean Chretien did with the GST. Deny-Deflect-Spin

Instead of avoiding this issue or spinning it, he should either say, "I was wrong when I said it, and you folks need to pay for my Nannies." or "You know what, people like me can afford our own childcare. I'm flipping the bill myself."

Case closed.

What Bull-sh-t. With a salary of close to $400,000.00, Do we think he doesn't pay taxes. I would say we should be paying for the nannies. We have to...

You are forgetting one eensy, teensy little fact. A promise made when campaigning precludes anything else, when it's a promise that is able to be kept!

I think we here in the states had two presidents who donated their entire salaries to charity. John Kennedy and Herbert Hoover. Come on folks cut loose with the coin and pay that babysitter bill . Aristocrats and celebrity have hard lives they need help.

SHOW ME!,,,,the mownay.

Government sets full-time salary range for Justin Trudeau's nanny

OTTAWA — The nanny hired to care for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s three children has been given a full-time government salary — and a slight pay increase.
The moves were revealed in an order in council issued last week, which sets Marian Pueyo’s annual pay between just less than $40,000 to more than $45,000, retroactive to the beginning of April.
At its top range, the order works out to a rate of $21.79 per hour, assuming a 40-hour work week.
That represents an increase from November 2015, when an order to hire Pueyo as a “special assistant” was first issued and pegged her pay range from $15 to $20 per hour for days and $11 to $13 per hour for night shifts.
Prime Minister’s Office spokeswoman Chantal Gagnon confirmed in an email that Pueyo is now a full-time employee. She also defended the pay boost.
“This first raise since 2015 is in line with the cost of living increase,” Gagnon said.
Trudeau faced criticism from opposition parties shortly after taking power in November 2015 for having two nannies on the taxpayer’s dime to care for his three young children.
Less than a year later, the prime minister ended the employment of one of the women, with no explanation given for her termination.
The government’s decision to hire a nanny for the prime minister underscores the challenge that many other Canadian families are facing when it comes to proper childcare, said NDP MP Niki Ashton.
“The NDP believes that all children should be well cared for, and that includes the prime minister’s family,” Ashton said in a statement.
“This shows the need for a national child-care strategy to ensure that all children receive safe and adequate care, regardless of their parents’ level of income.”
Conservative Party spokesman Brock Harrison blasted the prime minister for asking taxpayers to pay for his nanny while Trudeau himself receives “a generous salary.
“During the campaign, Mr. Trudeau told Canadians rich families like his don’t need taxpayers to help with their child care,” Harrison said in an email.
“He should pay for his own nannies.”
The latest order in council was among several that set salaries for longtime workers at the prime minister’s residence, including his chef, Che Chartrand, whose annual pay ranges from $68,468 to $79,234, effective July 3.

Wasn't she let go due to JT and ST claim they will be cooking their own meals and no need for a Chef, then a few months later found out they kept a Chef on staff and had to either let him or one of the nannies go?

That f**king nonsense has to stop! How many people would be willing to sign a petition to that effect? Maybe someone who is handy at that sort of thing should start one. This would be a good place to start the momentum against a twit who has no right being a Federal leader!

"In these times, Mr. Harper's top priority is to give wealthy families like his and mine $2,000," Trudeau said in reference to the Conservatives' income-splitting tax credit. "Let me tell you something: We don't need it. And Canada can't afford it."
