My father never went to school, could barely write his own name....yet was fluent in French, English, Algonquin and Cree .I would just like to add one general comment to this whole discussion................any perceived connection between a person's means of livelihood and their level of intelligence is a sure sign of crass ignorance of the person making the connection as is a connection between level of formal education and level of intelligence. One of the most intelligent people I ever knew, left school after grade 5.
