I find solace in the fact that in a little over 100 years, seven billion of us will have croaked, Ford will not be mayor of Toronto, and the Leafs will still be Stanley free. The gods willing...

Your moral and intellectual superiors are at it again.

They mad.

Rob Ford must resign. Now. Regardless of what happened or I'll hold my breath till I turn blue!

A couple of doozies, one from the Globe and the latest from Rosie DiManno who seems more frustrated than a two year old in today's rant.

Until that film is produced and vetted Ford should be presumed innocent.

IF he was being investigated or charged, then yes, step down. He shouldn't be stepping down because some yahoo makes unsubstantiated claims against him. Prove the claim, or shut the fu ck up.

This isn't Ford's first political life or even his third or fourth, he crashes from one fiasco to the next. He should have been gone over the conflict of interest thing but he was more concerned about Rob Ford than Toronto.

A certain amount of selfishness is ok in politics, but when that is the only motivation behind someone being in public service then you have to ask if it's worth the cost.

Even if he was the best mayor ever, which I seriously doubt when it seems at times he's more focused on coaching football, he still wouldn't be more important that the entire city he's supposed to be representing. Rob Ford is holding all of Toronto up to ridicule and taking the needed focus off of where it belongs, running Toronto in the interests of its citizens... not Rob Ford.

Either you've got a crackhead as a mayor of the most important city in Canada, or you've got the granddaddy of all smear campaigns. Not really a happy ending either way, is it?

With all of the allegations (anonymous ones) surrounding Rob Ford, has
anyone stepped forward yet with an allegation and backed that up with
their name to give an allegation some credence at this point?

nope and they won't because they are drug dealers, sketchy people. Doesn't make him innocent or guilty but it is a circus.

It's a farce is what it is. The mayor of Toronto has been 'accused' by some highly questionable individuals, there are calls for him to step aside because of it (some of it right here on this forum) and the media runs rampant with it. Meanwhile, the mayor of my city, a formal Liberal MP, has been charged with a criminal offense on top of further investigations into potential charity fraud, refuses to step down, and I never hear squat about it!

It's maddening!!!

Actually there is business going on. Today council passed a motion put forward by the mayor to cut the number of councillors to 25 from 44. It'll save the city millions.

Executive Committee agrees to study cutting number of councillors
It was only the Exec and was 8-4.....Do you really think the motion will pass full council when there is a solid block of19/20 councillors that typically vote against R Ford (only takes 23 to defeat a motion)? I think not......
