Always suspicious of big leads early. They have a habit of evaporating.

Hold that thought

Kevin out on strikes

Jose' Quitana is on the mound for the Sox

JD manages a base-hit of Jose'

Final two outs on a 5 - 4 - 3 double play

So there's Buck and his buddy talking about how the Jays don't see many left-handed pitchers and thus their struggle against guys like Quintana...........and my first thought is - then why the heck don't they make them practice against left-handed pitchers more - like before they see them in a game?

Joe gives up another hit to the first batter

Oh great............now it's Hanson the sneaky and really really fast little base stealer ..........and Hanson gets a base hit into left field

2 on base and nobody out................where's the leash Gibby???

Cabrera with a 2-run double .............so how are you feeling about the early lead now, IRBS? Sox up 6 zip in the 2nd

Abreu scores Cabrera on a hit to the wall....................7 zip Sox ..........and that's it for Joe.

Dominique Leon on the mound now - he's behind 2 and 0 with the first batter he faces..........make that 3 and 0 against Garcia

Leone walks Garcia - now there are 2 men on base and nobody out
Frazier flies out to Pierce but he's unable to stop Garcia from reaching 2nd on a off-base pitch to
Leone behind 2 and 0 to Davidsonbefore he catches him swinging through a strike....and then he does it again.........and again.............that brought some cheers from the fans who are very quiet right now - 2 away
Anderson gets behind 0 and 2 ..................and Leone puts him away with a nice little slider

Well done Kendrys...........lead-off homer in the bottom of the 2nd........that's 1 for us

Even 2 - 2 count on Smokie then he gets called on an inside strike that was pretty iffy
Tulo down by 2...........goes to 1 and 2.......2 and 2.......3 and 2.............work him Tulo, work him......but not enough...........Tulo grounds out to 3rd - 2 away
Russell flies out to center ...............bye bye Jays

Well..............if we can get a run in each of the next 8 innings...........we can tie the Sox and get the win in the 9th.........that's if we can prevent anymore runs by the Sox.

Narvarez gets a double with a first pitch hit to the left corner

I had a feeling when I was writing about the possibility of the Jays hitting 500 tonight that I might be hexing the team............now I am almost sure I did. :-(

Leone retires Sanchez for the first out
Hanson with a base hit scores Navarez
8 runs on 10 hits so far for the Sox.............so says Buck

Leone gets Cabrera on strikes - 2 away
Abreu grounds out to JD for the last out................so...........now we need a run in each of the next 9 innings and hopefully the go ahead run too.................thank the Universe we are batting last

Steve Pierce puts another run on the board for the Jays with a nice little homer of his own in the 3rd but that is all the Jays will get

Slow Mo loves Curling, Baseball, Hockey and CFL football, HH ................she has also been known to keep an eye on the PGA tour such as the one taking place at Erin Hills right now.

Yeah Leone.............he retired the order........that was a definite win for us there

I've got the US Open on as well...thinking Kaymer might just be the darkhorse of the field...lots of golf left!

I'll have to catch the highlights later, HH...........today it is Jay's baseball then right off to my Riders playing the Lions - no room for the PGA now - though I did catch a couple of rounds earlier - love that course.

Joey goes down swinging and almost took his body with him
Kendrys goes down swinging but much more gracefully

I like this Quintana..............he's a fine pitcher..............no unnecessary movement on the mound - great delivery. I have no patience for the guys that get up there and have to go through all the stupid gyrations before they can deliver a pitch.

Smokie's out on strikes..............

Jays put Jeff Beliveau on the mound for the 5th. He gives up two hits before watching Cabrera take a fast ball all the way to the stands and the Sox lead 11 - 2.

Well forget the run in each inning.............what we need is a miracle

Steve Pierce gets to second on what should have been a routine out for the Sox to first but a high throw missed the first baseman and the ball went over the wall for a double
Pierce heads for home on a deep hit to left by Russell but a missile to the plate by the outfielder prevents the run for the last out

Jason Grili out for the 6th........Man it's great to see Jason have a good inning like that....3up, 3 down and we are off to tail end of the inning

Kevin leads off with a double that bounces off the back wall.......great hit Kev.......a homer would have been nice but right now we badly need some runs on the board

The first walk issued by Quintana goes to JD - Jays have 2 on base with no one away

Joey grounds into a double play - 2 away
Kendrys flies out............

Aaron Loup on the mound for the 7th and gets us through the inning with no further damage

I do not believe we are going to win this one considering we are now in the 8th inning and still sitting at 11 and 2 but a run or two for the fans in the stands would perk them up and bit and maybe make the more mercenary among them feel that they got something for their money.

Tepera retires the Sox.

A couple of homers would not go wanting now..........we'll never catch the Sox so a couple that go into the stands would be most welcome.

My CFL game-timer is on the screen so I am outta here and off to see how my Riders fare in the last pre-season game.

The Jays have been known to rebound well after a hit like this and I wouldn't be surprised to see them comeback strong tomorrow.

I'm just wondering if most of us would be better served by a single report at the conclusion of each game. :)

Stroman gives up two homers for White Sox 2 zip lead in the 2nd

Goins doubles in the bottom of the 2nd to score Kendrys and put one on the board for the Jays

Great double-play in the 4th led off by Stroman strands 2 Sox on base

Stroman gives up another homer in the 6th - 3 to 1 for Sox

Dwight Smith Jr with an RBI single scores Smokie - 3 - 2 Sox in the 7th

4 - 2 Sox in the 8th after JD commits his 2nd error of the game

Loup gives up another run top of the 9th for a 5 - 2 White Sox lead

Joey flies out, Kendrys goes down swinging on strike 3, Smokie battles with the pitcher but is called out on strike 3 and that's the ballgame

The Jays drop their 2nd in a row to the White Sox who take this one 5 - 2

This was a boring game to watch. Jays were completely listless offensively. And 3 errors by Donaldson (2 of which lead to add on runs) was unexpected. 0-4 at the plate with 2 Ks and hitting into 1 DP didn't help either. Gotta wonder if his mind was actually in the game today. Have to say that about the whole team. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Most exciting thing that happened today was they closed the roof mid-game.

Comment duly noted, JLM

You should duly ignore it IMHO.

Well, IRBS......................looks like the Jays just might be making your Father's Day a really happy one in the ballpark. BTW, Happy Dads Day to you. Didn't look so good in the early going but the Jays have managed to get in front of the Sox with a score of 7 - 3 in the bottom of the 8th.

They did it - they took the last game of the series - on Father's Day, how nice.

Safe trip home, IRBS

It was a great day at the ballpark. From our seats it looked like Morales HR was off the CF's glove and over the fence but TV replays do not show the same. I too thought that when they gave up that 2 out single to get the 2 extra runs (after getting the 1out K) was going to doom them. But same reliever that had them in stitches yesterday was hit hard today.

But glad they were able to salvage one. As it turns out the Yankees are in a major skid so despite mediocre play over last week they have actually gained ground. Only 5.5 back and 2 out of Wildcard.

Are we going to start wondering what's wrong with Liriano too? Down 5 zip in the 5th - just gave up a homer and followed that with a walk.

Blue Jays fall 2 games behind .500 after their 6 - 1 loss at the hands of the Rangers today. We also lost another reliever to the bullpen. Leonel Campos left the game with a groin injury.
