Whoa that second pitch was some pretty - you could actually see it curve back around and over the plate for a strike on Votto
Tried to sneak a fast ball inside and didn't get the call, Votto fouls off the breaking ball to the outside, then sends one foul into the stands, and a beaut of an inside fastball fouled right into Luke's mitt and Votto is out - that's a big one for Joey
Duvall flies out to Kevin at center - 2 away
Took him a bit but Joey catches the last batter swinging - 3 up, 3 down for Joey .......and our bullpen is looking darn good right now

Lol

At least ive witnessed a Votto homerun.

Everyone looks and smiles at me when I yell, "Jays Suck".

Great memory to take home with you, Johnnny - that homer by Canadian guy Joey Votto - can't say as I am all that upset when I see him hit a good one being Canadian and all.

I'm sure fans have heard much worse then 'Jay's suck' Johnnny.

Joey flies out to the infield
Kendrys out on strikes
Smokie lines out to Votto for the last out of the inning and Roberto will take to the mound to finish off the Reds in the 9th

I foresee a

in the offing.

Well that's not the way I thought it would go - first pitch a homer for Stebbler? - sheeeit
Gets the next batter on a sneaky little slider that catches him swinging - 1 away
Barnhardt drops one in front of Zeke for a one-out single and there are 2 on base for the Reds - he's replaced with a pinch runner
Oh bloody hell, a strike to 2nd base and the ball got under Goins glove and all the runners are safe with only 1 away
And darn it if Roberto doesn't come right back and catch Hamilton on a high fast ball for 2 away

Bit of a shaky inning for Roberto but he got the last out in the end. What a great series for my guys in the month of May

5 - 4 Jays

It's my body language. Im a passionate person but i mean well and other humans see this. I only received smiles, i love the sports scene in TO....

Well............another day, another park and your Reds will come back, Johnnny.

In the meantime, GO JAYS!

With this last win, the Jays have pulled within 1 of the magic number 500.

No other team in the majors has hit more homerun of the Jays in the month of May - nice stat that but it's the wins that really count.

So, to sum it up. The Jays swept the Reds with JD, Tulo, and Kevin on the bench and with one of our iffy pitchers on the mound. Joe comes on in relief and rocks the mound, Grilli rocks the mound and the ever so cool Roberto slams the door on any chance of a Reds comeback. Our big bats are healthy. Our lower rotation guys keep coming up with big hits. Our bullpen is rockin' and our starters are solid. Come on June.........The Boys of Summer are hummin'

Anyone with season tickets?

Or just big screen TVs?

I bought tickets to 4 games for me & my son. Got another game for Father's day. Seeing the White Sox (twice) and Pittsburgh. Have seen Tampa Bay and Cleveland.

I follow most games on my phone. Not much time to sit down and spend 3 hours watching any sporting event.

Well this has certainly been a humbling experience. I realize that the Yankees are top of the league but 2 runs against 12 does tend to take one down a peg or two. Very unhappy looking dugout right now. Marcus did not do well against his nemesis - apparently he's had bad luck pitching to NY before - and was yanked from the mound in the 4th. After that it was almost a steady stream of pitchers trudging out to the mound from the Jays bullpen as Gibby tried to find someone - anyone, who could shut down the hot, hot Yankee batters - but it was mostly for naught. Kendrys and Zeke had the two lone homers for the Jays tonight. The Jays were also tagged with a couple of errors.

Fransico Lirano will start on the mound for the Jays tomorrow - hopefully he will have better luck than Marcus. This is a four game series and the Jays would be happy to split the series. Tonight's final: Yankees 12 - Jays 2

Yankees historically have done worse against lefties than right handers but not sure about this year. They seem to be winning against everybody.

The Jays are limiting Fransico to 85 pitches tonight. The Yankees are batting .280 against left-handed pitchers so I am not getting my hopes up about today's game.

Fransico gets behind 3 - 1 before Gardiner belts one to deep center-field. Zeke misses the catch and Gardiner is safe on 3rd. 3-base error charged to Zeke.
Next batter out on a grounder to JD
Whoa! Fransico caught Judge swinging for out number 2
Matt Holiday to the plate - and he flies out to Zeke for the last out

No harm, no foul Fransico

Pillar leads off the batting order against Pineda and he grounds out to 2nd
JD takes the second pitch and sends it high into the stands as the Jays strike first
Joey flies out to center - 2 away
Pineda walks Kendrys
Smokie smokes one to far right stands for a 2-run homer with 2 away
Tulo at the plate - and grounds out to short but the Jays are up by 3 at the end of the 1rst

Fransico get the first batter to ground out to Tulo
2nd batter gets to second on a long ball that Pillar can't get to in time
Fransico gets the next batter swinging for a K - 2 away
Headley flies out to Zeke and the Yankees strand a man on 2nd - Yeah!

Devon retired on a grounder to the infield
Zeke bunts and gets to first before the ball - rock on Zekie

Russell is sitting this game out with a minor neck issue
Luke is at the plate - and he pops up to short for the 2nd out which is about the time that the Jays have been known to come alive at bat.............let's see how this goes
Pineda is having arm problems - keeps shaking it
Kev at the plate - and he drops one for a base hit
JDs at the plate..............Zeke makes it to 3rd on a wild pitch from Sanchez the catcher - back to JD - but he grounds out to 2nd and the Jays are retired stranding 2 on base

Fransico has thrown 32 pitches coming into the 3rd inning
Carter hits a ground rule double
Fransico walks the next batter
Sanchez up to the plate and he hits one right to Devon's glove for the 1rst out
Judge up next - and he gets a walk to load the bases
Matt Holliday up to the plate - Fransico is having a bit of a problem out there - Luke comes out to have a wee chat with Frannie - and Smokie grabs a grounder for a beaut 5, 4, 3 play and get Frannie out of trouble

Joey - reads the pitches well and is rewarded with a walk on 4 balls
Kendrys - gets a great base hit and Joey makes it to 3rd - taking away a chance of a double-play for the Yankess
Smokie hits a long high fly ball for the first out but Joey makes it home on the play
Tulo pops up to shallow center for out number 2
Devon - and he dekes one into right for a base hit
Zeke - and he hits one to short for the last out - but the Jays are ahead by 4

Blue Jays announcers are so lame but I still enjoy listening to them...

I get a kick out of Buck and Pat, Johnnny - especially all the baseball trivia they come up with

Castro flies out to center and Kev is there for the out
Grounder to JD off the next batter for 2 away
3 up, 3 down inning for Fransico and he needed only three pitches to do it

Luke Maile up to the plate - and he drops one into right center for a base hit
Superman - he needs to find his groove again - and he flies out to center for one away
JD - and he flies out to centerfield for 2 away
Time for some 2 out magic guys
Maile makes it to 3rd on a lovely base hit by Joey - no double-play possibility either...heh, heh, heh
Wild pitch gets away from Sanchez and Luke scores as Joey makes it to 2nd
I wonder how long Pineda is going to be left out there .......ah there is some activity in the Yankees bullpen now
Kendrys grounds out for the 3 away but the Jays are up 5 zip going into the 5th

You should see my Pat and Buck impersonations....

That would be something to see, Johnnny...........you got those twangs down pat, do you?

Headley at the plate - and Fransico gets him with a sneaky little slider - 3 K for Frannie
Carter up - Frannies up in the 70s now - and he got him - 4 K for Frannie
Gardiner - Frannie appears to be locked in now - well except for that high curve-ball he just threw and Frannie strikes out the side!

Smokie - and he drops one over the head of the SS
2 - LO ............gets a base hit to left field
And I think the leash on Pineda just tightened up
Devon - ah poop - Yankees get a double play on a grounder to SS - Smokie safe on 3rd
Zeke - and he takes a walk
Luke up next - and he strikes out - stranding 2 on base.........I have a feeling Pineda won't start the 6th - he's just not happy out there and is wandering all over the mound between pitches shaking himself like a big old dog

Sanchez sends one into center field for a base hit
Judge - and he hits his 18th homer of the season and scores 2.......sheeeit
Gibby's out to the mound - Frannie will give up the ball to Danny Barnes
and Danny walks Holliday
Frannie threw a total of 81 pitches.................and Castro hits a 2-run homer off Barnes - maybe we should have stuck with Frannie

Aaron Luke is up and pitching in the BP
Danny gets the batter to fly out to Joey - for 1 away
Danny is not dialed in- Gregorius with a base hit - tieing run now aboard

Those dug-outs must be yucky places what with all that spitting that goes on
Zeke nabs a fly ball to left for 2 away

Joey waits for a high fly ball and makes short work of the last out for the Yankees.........but the damage is done and we need our bats to light up...........

Holder in to replace Pineda - Kevin flies out to center for one away
The Bringer of Rain is Back!!!!!!!!!!! - 2nd homer of the night for JD........too bad we didn't have some men on base

Joey's making Holder work ........but pops one up to the infield for the 2 out
Kendrys - swings and misses to end the inning........but we got 1 back

Aaron Luke out of the bullpen. He takes care of Gardiner - Gibby out and he calls Ryan Tepera to face Sanchez and Judge

Well good for Ryan...............he struck Sanchez out with the last pitch after going 1 and 2
Now he has to deal with Judge........and he walks him after about 7 pitches and going 3 and 2
Matt Holliday comes to the plate..........and he hits a double off the back wall over Kev's head..........Judge scores and Matt's on 2nd with 2 away

Castro now...........20 pitches thrown by Ryan so far..........and with the 21rst he gets Castro on a swing and a miss for a K........thank you Universe

Smokie facing Bogart and he's safe at first on an error by the first base man - maybe - the play is under review

SAFE!.............thank you baseball gods

Tulo.........a beautiful little double to deep in left field - Smokie on 3rd - Tulo on 2nd

Every single batter in the Jay's line-up tonight has had a hit

Devon ....he sure knows how to work the pitcher...........this pitcher is having real problems with the calls - second trip to the mound for Sanchez to set him straight in as many throws......work him Devon........work him hard........and you get rewarded by a great sac fly as Smokie makes it home

Tulo makes it to 3rd on bunt by Zeke that they are calling a sac bunt to advance the runner - 2 away
Luke Maile will try to get Tulo home.....and he swings and misses on strike 3 for the 3rd out.......but the Jays get another run in and lead 7 - 5 going to the 8th

Joe Smith making his 29th appearance of the season for the Jays faces lead-off batter Hicks......hand Hicks finds a hole for a base hit.......
Gregorious.........( our bullpen is just a bit too shaky at times tonight) ..they are getting worked hard - Tepera was over 21 pitches - ah great out for Joe - caught him swinging - K
Joe gets the batter out at first off a dribbler close to the mound - Hicks advances to 2nd
Carter......represents the tieing run.........and Carter pops one back right into Joe's glove for the 3rd out. Well done Joe!

Shreve on the mound for the Yankees facing Pillar.......Kevs getting some wood on the ball...and if those pitches come any closer he's gonna get hit...........but not enough to reach base - 1 away
JD goes down swinging and is really pissed at himself - 2 away
Joey goes down on a called strike.......and we are off to the 9th as Roberto comes to the mound to face the top of the batting order for the Yanks............this should be interesting

Gardner pops up to Zeke on the 2nd pitch - 1 away
Sanchez lines on right into the glove of Tulo - 2 away
Judge...............well Rock on Roberto - gets Judge on three strikes and the Jays win the 2nd game of the series! 7 - 5 against the best team in the East and, our pitching staff wasn't that hot whereas theirs was just that much better. We got men on base and made some really good plays - all in all, a fine win for the boys of summer. Joe Biagini on the mound tomorrow.

He's baaaaa...........ck!

TV or radio? I have always liked the radio guys .... the best was Tom & Jerry. Used to mute the TV and turn on the radio in order to listen. Now it's only Jerry as Tom got brain cancer some years back and died.

With a win today, the Jays can hit the magic number of 500 - make it so, guys............make it so.

Gardner, Hicks and Judge will lead off the batting order for the Yankees and face Joe Biagini in his 6th appearance of the season. Darwin replaces Zeke in left field.

Gardner hit a liner to Smokie for the first out of the game
Hicks out on a grounder to Devon - 2 away

Joe is doing all he can to stay away from Judge's bat.......trouble is he's thrown 3 balls in a row.......count now 3 and 2......and he walks Judge.
Holliday hits one deep to right and right into the pocket of Joey's glove for the 3rd out. Darn good start for Joe.

Jordan Montgomery on the mound for the Yankees. Pillar will start off the order.

Judge has to run a long way but makes the catch on a high fly ball off Kev's bat - 1 away
JD mashes one to the warning track but Hicks is there to nab it - 2 away
Joey goes down swinging for the last out of the inning

Joe's dealing so far - retires the side in order

Justin Smoak has the 2nd highest batting average in the American league.......and he's working Montgomery......and is rewarded with a walk
I missed the first out of the inning
Tulo takes a walk after showing great patience at the plate
Devon hits a high fly to the warming track and Hicks is there to take the hit away - 2 out
Darwin pops up to Judge - 3 away

Romine strikes out - 1 away

Repsnyder hit one to Tulo but he couldn't handle the ball - he'll be charged with an error as the batter makes first

Gardner faces 2 and 2..........Repsnyder steals second..............Pillar chases down Gardners hit to the warming track- 2 away

Hicks lands on second after another double that scores Repsnyder as Joey comes up short of the ball and then fumbles it

Judge hits an RBI double - Kev gets caught running from the bright sun into the darkness of the warming track, the ball bounces off the wall as Hicks makes it home and Aaron lands on 2nd

Holliday grounds out to JD who makes the throw to first for the final out ........but the Yankees are on the board with 2 - hopefully that was just a little glitch for Joe.........I'm sure Gibby wants him to go as deep as he can - the bullpen got a good work-out last nigh

Luke and Kevin make it on base, JD pops out, Joey strikes out and Kendrys is called on strike 3 - stranding 3 men on base

Okay Joe..................7 pitches and he retires the side in order...........YOU GO JOE! - great way to start off the 4th

Justin flies out to Judge in right field - 1 away
It would be nice if the guys could give Joe some back with a couple or more runs

Tulo - up the middle to Castro - 2 away

Devon lines out to 3rd............no support there for Joe

Smokie after catching a grounder from Romine but manages to toss the ball to Biagini covering first - 1 away

Joe does his bit again, retiring both Repsnyder and Gardner for the last outs.......come on offense give him some support

Darwin goes down swinging - 1 away
Luke comes through with his second hit of the game and lands on first
Kev after a great at-bat pops up to center - 2 away
Montgomery is getting some good calls today

JD's patience at the plate pays off and he gets a walk to 1rst - Luke moves to 2nd
Joey grounds out to Headley who steps on the bag for the 3rd out

..........and we are off to the 6th with the Yankees holding a 2-run lead

Joe's thrown over 70 pitches so far

Hicks makes it close at first but Biagini beat him to the bag for the first out

After a walk, an RBI and a double in his last at-bats, Joe gets Judge out on strikes and then with a first pitch gets Holliday to fly out to Tulo. Another great inning for Joe and a big out in denying Judge.

Kendrys grounds out
Montgomery still getting those good calls as Smokie is called on a strike that is obviously outside the box

Justin pops out to Judge - 2 away
Tulo managed to take 8 pitches so far and sits at 1 and 2................but is retired on a fly ball to right.

Joe still on the mound to start the 7th ............there you go Joe - that call went your way............Castro gets to second as Darwin comes up short on the catch

Gregorius drops a double that scores Castro as he lands on 2nd with nobody out

Headley gets called on strikes - 1 away

Joe gets the next batter to ground to JD who catches and tags Gregorius for the second out and the last out comes on a grounder to Tulo.

Even the fans can see those bad calls that favor Montgomery and are giving the ump the ever popular Bronz cheer. Devon is robbed by the ump - regardless, he's the first out for the Jays.

Zeke at the plate replacing Darwin at bat...........is also very patient and he takes a walk bringing Luke up - he gets called out on strikes but Zeke manages to steal 2nd

Kevin gets called on a strike that is outside the box and that one has Buck and Pat commenting on the so-called strike zone of this ump

Kevin out on strikes and it is time to fire up the Grilli for the 8th

Gardner hits homerun number 12 and makes it 4 zip for the Yankees
Hicks lines out to Zeke - 1 away
Judge - apparently Aaron has become a favorite with the young fans as he always takes time to sign autographs and pose for pictures - and he's been giving some of them the balls...........but Grilli gets the better of him this time as he goes down swinging

Joe threw 100 pitches to day

Holliday hits a homer to the seats and the Yanks put their 5th run on the board

Castro hits one over the wall ...........chalk up another one for NY

Gregorius homers..............and that will be it for Jason who will remember this one for a long time to come as the Yankees double their score then add an extra point under his command - or lack thereof.

JP Howell will come in and try his luck at the final out of the inning

..........and he is able to retire Headley

Tyler Clippard will start off the bottom of the 8th for NY

JD out on a grounder to Castro
Joey goes down swinging
Kendrys flies out

Danny Barnes in for the 9th

Romine's retired on a pop up to Joey in right field
Carter in for Repsnyder and he goes down swinging on 3 strikes
Gardner pops up to Tulo and Danny retires the side in order

Tances on the mound for the Yankees to close out the inning

Justin, now batting right-handed leads off the order........and he goes down swinging

3 hits for the Jays today - 3 Luke Maile had 2 and Kevin Pillar had one

Tulo makes base on 4 balls

Devon pops up to the 2nd baseman

Zeke grounds out to second and that's the ball game. Yankees take it 7 zip
