Ouch. I'd rather listen to the game on the radio and have a tail gate party. I could pay for me and five buddies for about $100. Beer and BBQ included.

If everybody kicked in $30 or $40, you could have a bonfire, beer, shots and food. A nice night of harmless fun. Bring a sleeping bag and sleep where you drop.

Jason Grilli became first Jays reliever ever to give up 4 HR in one inning.

Probably the worst inning I've seen Jason pitch. It was excruciating.

I really felt bad for Joe Biagini who though getting no run support what-so-ever still managed to make it through 7 full innings giving up only 3 runs and throwing a total of 100 pitches. I thought he had a really solid outing. The bats just couldn't solve Montgomery though he certainly had more than his fair share of calls that went his way but were obviously bad calls.

Yeah, Murphy......he could have but he would have missed the atmosphere inside Rogers and there is something so memorable about seeing a game live - TV can't touch that. I'm happy to hear Johnnny had a good time and has great memories to take home with him.

I think if you me and murph were at the same party, that we'd have a good time. I can work a crowd :p, but then again you guys are old...

Been there, done that, Johnnny. My days of hearty partying are behind me now but I well remember getting caught up in the excitement of the moment at live games especially when my team was on the winning end. The exhilaration and joy of sharing those times with thousands of other people are memories I will never forget.

I have been to NHL games in various cities, but crowds annoy me. I appreciate the rural life and probably won't go to another live event. I'm a blue jeans and ball cap type, who drives a pickup.

If you like going to sports events, that's wonderful. Enjoy!

On Josh Donaldson Bobble-Head day, the Bringer of Rain delivered a win for the home team to the joy of the fans with a homer in the 8th to put the Jays ahead 3 - 2 and that would be the ball game.

In doing so, the Jays split the series with the Yankees and should be well pleased with their efforts against the best in the East and the hottest hitters they have faced for awhile.

Marcus was on the mound through the 6th and left game having given up 2 runs on 5 hits. Aaron Loup came into the game for the 7th, and got out of the inning on 8 pitches after giving up the lead-off run. Devon Travis led-off a great double-play that saw him tag the runner to second then throw to first for the out. Headley was the final out after he popped one up to Joey.

In the bottom of the 7th, Devon took a hard fast ball to the wrist and was given a walk but was seen to be in some discomfort and did not return to the game once the inning was over.

The Jays got on the board in the 6th when Smokie hit a 2-run homer and tied the game.

Joe Smith was in for the 8th. He got the first batter on a dribbler to the mound then struck out both Gardner and Sanchez.

Roberto on the mound in the 9th took Judge out with 3 consecutive strikes, got Holliday on a fourth-pitch strike, then finished off with a 3 strikes to Castro.

The Blue Jays are in Oakland right now for their series with the Athletics. However, they will be without Devon Travis who was placed on the DL today with another knee injury. Devon was very emotional when addressed the media prior to the game. I feel so bad for both Devon and the team and his loss will definitely be hard of the Jays.

The Jays dropped their first game against the A's yesterday. For the second time in as many outings, JA Happ struggled with his command on the mound giving up 5 runs in just over 5 innings. Mind you, the Jays are once again struggling with their inability to advance on-base runners. They come up with the homers but having a man or two on base would definitely improve their fortunes and with the loss of Devon, they will definitely need to find a way of getting runners in scoring position.

Edit: Marco Estrada is on the mound today for the Jays

Just as well I had to go to bed early last night, I didn't have to watch the Jays drop their second game with the A's.

Fransico Liriano on the mound today for the last of the 3-game series.

Liriano gave up a run in the first but the Jays came back in the second to score 4 runs. Smokie got a homer then Kev hit a 3-run homer. Fransico allowed a man on base but got out of the inning with no further damage done.

If the gods of baseball smile on the Jays today and grant them a win, the team will move up to 500 for just the second time this year.

A's get one back in the 3rd due to a couple of errors by the Jays and some not so great pitches by Fransico.

Fransico gives up a homer to the lead-off batter in the 4th to bring the A's within one of a tie.

The Jays are getting wood on the ball, just not enough to make a difference on the scoreboard.

Fransico gives up a lead-off triple in the 6th.............bullpen is up and working....

A's runner ties the game as he makes it home safely on a long high fly ball to deep center.

Tulo, Kev, Smokie, Coglan and Goins have all committed errors out there today.

We are being out-pitched by the A's.

Aaron Sanchez may be back on the mound when the Jays return to Rogers next week. Meanwhile, Danny Barnes has replaced Liriano on the mound.

Danny retires the side in order - maybe the Jays should consider letting Danny try out for the starting position.

3 up, 3 down for Danny

Joe Smith comes to the mound and he retires the line-up in order

Ryan Tepera on the mound in the 9th

There is probably some rule that prevents it, but watching the relievers pitch, I wish they would just use a different pitcher for each inning - maybe we could win that way. Tepera retired the line-up in order and we are off to extra innings.

JD comes through in the top of the 10th with a 2-run homer that scores Pillar who got on base after he was hit by a pitch.

With 2 out, Smokie comes through, again, with his 2nd homer of the day and his 17th of the season - talk about smokin' hot Justin is burning up the bases.

Justin is only 1 behind the home-run leader Aaron Judge.

Roberto Osuna will come out for the bottom of the 10th - hopefully to preserve the lead and take the win.

Strike-out, fly-out to center, then he gives up a hit to that sneaky little base-stealer Davis and another base hit that scores Davis.........but he comes up with a strike-out for the last out...........and the Jays win the last game 7 - 5. The bullpen saved the day for the Jays - no doubt.

The Jays have tomorrow off then will travel to Seattle for a series with the Mariners.

Tim and Sid had a great segment on their show today about the number of Blue Jays fans flocking to Seattle for the series with the Mariners. Apparently, the best ticket sales the Mariners have are when the Jays are in town due to the thousands - to the tune of 108,000 at the last game in Seattle - and they figure the numbers are even higher for this series. It is almost impossible to see Seattle fans - at least those wearing Mariner gear. It was a sea of blue lining up at the ticket office and flooding the stadium today. The Mariner organization doubled the price of tickets for the Jays games this weekend ......and still they came - in droves and droves. Gibby mentioned, when asked about the support, that Jays fans are all over the league - they can be found attending games no matter the city or state.

I'm looking forward to the playing of O Canada tonight and listening to the fans belt out our national anthem in the Mariners stadium.

Joe Biagini will be on the mound today. So we have to watch out for Danny Valencia today - he's batting .333 right now and had 9 hits in as many games. Hazel Mae mentioned that there have been a few line-up changes for the Mariners since they last played the Jays in TO.

Ahhhhhhhhhh........the fans were absolutely wonderful.......the group chosen to sing the anthem gave up and let the fans take over and they made me proud. They were so loud but you could hear every word. Gave me shivers and a huge smile.

I think I should take a road trip the next time the Jays are in Seattle it wouldn't be that different from being in Rogers. I could stock up on Jays gear while I'm at it.

Kev out on a 3rd strike dribbler the ump called fair.....kind of iffy
JD grounds out to 1rst
Joey gets ahead 3 and 1 and his patience and good eye grant him a nice little stroll to first with 2 away
Kendrys and the first pitch almost gets him in the hip..........called strike that was out of the box - sheesh these frickin' umps....the Mariner's pitcher seems preoccupied with catching Joey off the base.....and Kendrys with a great little liner just fair of the first base line while Joey makes it to 3........heh, heh, heh.....no double-play there
Smokie .......almost got hit by a high pitch...........gets ahead 3 and 0...........and a 4-pitch walk loads the bases
Tulo............grounds out to SS and they get Kendrys at 2nd for the final out
Not a bad inning ..........they guys got hits..........now they just have to bring some of those runners home

Joe uses 2 pitches to get the first out
Gets ahead 0 and 2 on the next batter.......misses low for ball 1.......another low curve ball in the dirt for an even count.......fast ball pulled foul.........and gets him with a nasty fast ball down and away for Joe's first strike-out and 2 away
3 strikes in a row sends the last batter to the dug-out.........very economical inning for Joe.....nice to see him get off to a good solid start

Russell makes first, Zeke hits a line drive that gets by the defence and lands on first as Russelll lands on 2nd
Martin scores on an error by the Mariners first baseman. Zeke out at second but Smoke safe on first...........making dinner missed the last batter but the Mariners got a double play for the final out

Cruz out on 2 pitches
Seager out on 3 pitches
Valnecia......goes down swinging after 4 pitches............Joe has 3 strikes outs through 2 innings.....he's dealin'

It's the bats turn to give Joe some run support

Buck was just mentioning how impressive it was to hear the Canadian fans sing O Canada.

JD out on a grounder right to SS 3rd baseman
Joey hits a lovely homer to left-field stands............oh yeah ......that baby was gone
Kendrys strikes out for 2 away
Smokie bounces one to first for the last out but.........the Jays are up 2 zip

Zunino takes the 3rd pitch and hits it to Goins near second - 1 away
?Dyson hits a single that lands just short of Pillar
Motter up to bat.........Dyson steals 2nd on Joe's second pitch........Motter flies out to Kevin
Wild pitch to Gamel gets by Russell and Dyson makes it to 3rd.....Joe gets behind 2 and 1.........and he hits a single that scores Dyson
Heredia.........hits the 2nd pitch right to JD .........a tricky little hop but Donaldson easily throws to first for the final out
Not so good an inning for Joe.....he's charged with an error for that errant pitch

Tulo up to the plate.............and he takes a first pitch strike......followed by 2 more for the first out
Russell.........behind 0 and 2.........working the pitcher whose thrown six so far..........and then he goes down swinging - 2 away
Zeke takes a strike........then lines a long one to SS that's just a bit too far a throw to first and Zeke is safe
Ryan takes a strike........then a ball..........swings through a fast ball.......and is out on strikes

Cano popped up to the infield his first time up..........he lines one right to JD for the first out, this time
Cruz hits the first pitch foul, takes a ball in the dirt......swings and misses on a low breaking ball for strike 2.......and hits the final pitch hard to Zeke in left field for the 2nd out
Seager flies out to Pillar on Joe's 2nd pitch.............good recoup by Joe....another economical inning - the more he has of these, the deeper he can go in the game..........Go Joe!

Kevin leads off the 5th but hits one right behind second for the first out
JD gets ahead 3 and 1 then takes a strike for a full count.........and whacks one right up the middle for a nice little base hit
Joey fouls one to the seats to even the count at 1 and 1............then hits a high pop up to the infield for 2 away
Kendrys......takes strike 1........then a ball.........fouls one away then the next two.........gets another ball.....and grounds out to first for the final out

1 pitch - 1 out and 3 in a row retired by Joe
Joe uses 4 pitches and gets Zanino swinging on the last one for the 2nd out
Dyson goes after the first pitch and flies out to Zeke

3up, 3down............yeah Joe

Smoke leads off the order with another base hit
Tulo strikes out
Russell grounds into a double play and that ends the inning

Joe's got this first pitch strike down almost to a tee
He got the first two batters on strikes...........but this last guy's making him work for the last out..........he just threw his 70th pitch of the game and the 71rst is his 10th straight strike-out..............YOU GO JOE!

Now let's see some run support guys..........

Zeke's retired
Ryan grounds out
Pillar hits one hard down the right field line for a base hit
Ah pooh...........Donaldson hits one deep to the alley in left field and Kevin gets the go ahead to run the bases but is tagged at home for the final out

Back to the top of the order for Joe

Cano hits a double off the fence and Kev is unable to get it to Tulo in time for the out at second
That's only the second hit Joe's given up in the game
Outstanding catch and throw to first by Ryan gets Cruz at first and prevents Cano from advancing
Seager gets ahead of Joe 3 and 0...........Tepera is warming up in the bullpen.......Seager draws a walk
Valencia............scores Cano on a single ........Seager takes 3rd and Seager is on first.............that drew a meeting on the mound with Joe's struggling now.......he's thrown 2 balls to Zanino....and there's only 1 away.........3 and 0.........Aaron Luke is up in the bullpen........and he takes a walk that loads the bases
The play has to be at home..........
Dyson takes a strike then a ball in the dirt that Russell gets on top of............curve ball in the dirt 2 and 1..........and hits an RBI single to center.........Seager scores but thanks to Kevin they get Valencia out at home........still the Mariners now have a 3 -2 lead in the 7th
Joe gets the last out but it was definitely not a good inning for him

Joey takes the 3rd pitch and rips one into left field to lead off the order
Kendrys goes down swinging
Smokie battles hard but goes out on strikes
Tulo jumps on the first pitch and rips it into center.........Joey lands on 2nd
Russell goes down swinging for the final out

Aaron Loup out to start the 8th inning..........and he gives up a 2-strike double to lead off the order..........Gamel tries to steal 3rd and Loup with a strong throw to Donaldson gets him out
Aaron's chased off the mound after giving up another run and the Mariners lead the Jays 4 - 2
Dominque Leon comes into the game for the Jays with runners at first and third and two away - he takes on Valencia and gets him swinging on strike 3

We are off to the 9th

Zeke out on a high fly ball to the warming track
Ryan out on strikes
Kevin goes down swinging and the Jays drop their first game with the Mariners 4 - 2

Being that the Jays can't seem to get on base tonight, the Mariners pitcher has taken it upon himself to make sure they do. In the 3rd, he walked the first two Jays batters.:lol:

Kendrys just hit a 2-run homer in the 4th to take the lead 2 - 1

Stro was dealing in the bottom of the 4th - 9 pitches to strike out the order.

The Mariners evened the score 2 apiece in the 7th then Zeke came out in the 8th and hit a homer to give the Jays the lead back.

Justin smokes one in the top of the 9th to give the Jays a 2 run lead

The fans are on their feet and going bananas as Roberto Osuna strikes out the order and preserves the win for the Jays. 4 - 2 the final and Stro picks up the win. Not a great effort by the Jays today - the errors are getting tedious and they still haven't got the small ball game down. Were it not for the homers, the Jays would go wanting. Unlike last night, the pitching staff and bullpen came through tonight and they did get some run support. Will be interesting to see how they fair tomorrow when JA Happ will take to the mound.
Smokies homer tonight puts him one behind Aaron Judge - they would have tied but Aaron got one of his own tonight.

I have been a frequent visitor at the MLB Allstar voting site. You can vote for our guys five times every day. Smokie tops my list and I fill out the card with Pillar, Donaldson, Martin, Travis, Tulo and Morales.

I forgot to mention that Zeke hit a also homered tonight. And, Joey Bats all but strolled to second on a single when he was issued a walk. He took first, noticed no one on the Mariner defence was paying attention and decided he might as well try for second which he made standing up.

I get such a kick out of listening to Buck and Pat talk up the players. Today they were chatting about the fact that the Mariner's pitcher today - James Paxton - has given up only one homer this season. So what happens in the 1rst inning, he gives up a 2-run homer to JD. Kevin scored on the play after getting on base with a nice little base-line double.

Joey's issued a walk - this time he only gets to first.

Smokie gets a base hit and advances Joey to 2nd

Kendrys strikes out. Tulo flies out. Darwin out on a pop foul.

JA will have a 2 run lead to start the bottom of the first - Luke Maile is catching for Happ

Motter out on a grounder to second. Haniger strikes out after six pitches. Cano sneaks one up the middle for a base hit. Cruz gets a single. Seager flies out to Joey and that's it for the Mariners who leave two runners on base.

:eek:ccasion7: Happy Birthday Zeke...........

Geez Aaron Judge has hit 2 homers today........the guy is a hitting machine - the first one went over 500ft, fps.

Zeke draws a walk. Luke hits a single to right. Kev out on a fly ball to center. Paxton's thrown 41 pitches already. Biggest crowd of the season for the Mariners last night - the vast majority of them - Canadians. JD loads the bases on a high ball that drops in front of the outfielder. That last hit by the Jays just drew a meeting on the mound with the catcher and the pitching coach. Joey strikes out for 2 away as Kendrys comes to the plate. Kendrys grounds out to Seager at 3rd leaving the bases loaded.

Bottom of the 2nd

Valencia out on a grounder right back to JA
Zunino called out on strikes
Gamel lines one past Donaldson, Zeke isn't on top of the ball then misses on the throw to 3rd where Gamel ends up. Another error on Zeke. The Jay have had 13 errors in their last 16 games, fps. Missed the next batters name......but he goes down swinging for the last out stranding two men on base.

Top of the 3rd

Smokie out on a ground ball up the middle to the second baseman
Tulo out on a grounder to 3rd
Darwin flies out to left

Bottom of the 3rd

Heredia ...........JA's command is still a little shaky..........he's throwing a lot of balls - no walks yet though.........Heredia flies out to Joey - that was a 7-pitch at bat

Haniger ..........JA's throwing a lot of high fast balls..........he's behind 3 and 0 now........and he walks his first batter with 1 away
Cano flies out to Kevin in center - 2 away
Cruz hits a double to deep right - Haniger gets to 3rd with 2 away
Seager grounds out to Smokie stranding another 2 on base

Top of the 4th

Zeke out on strikes
Luke out to the SS
Kevin hits another double that is almost a mirror image of his first one
Josh is 3 for 3 tonight as he scores Kev on a long single to far right
Joey draws his second walk of the game..........he sure is good at that
Kendrys ...........Paxton is up to 91 pitches now..........Kendrys hits a single that scores JD ........and that draws another meeting on the mound as the Mariner's bullpen gets to work here in the 4th
Smokie at the plate.......and he grounds out to Seager at third for the last out of the inning..........but the Jays put 2 more on the board

Bottom of the 4th - Jays lead 4 - 0..........so JA is getting some run support this afternoon

Valencia out on strikes
Zunino breaks his bat but gets the ball past Smokie for a single - 5th hit surrendered by JA
Gamel gets on base with a hit to right
Motter gets a piece of the ball but Luke is there to catch it
Heredia with an even count 2 and 2................and swings right through strike number 3 - 2 more Mariners stranded

Top of the 5th

New pitcher in for the Mariners

Tulo flies out to right
Darwin flies out to center
Zeke flies out to center

Bottom of the 5th

Haniger is the 7th strike out for JA
Cano flies out to Zeke
Cruz gets ahead 3 and 1............then flies out to Joey

Top of the 6th

Luke out on strikes
Kev strikes out
JD strikes out

Bottom of the 6th

Seager's retired on a pop foul into the glove of Justin Smoak
Valencia out on strikes
Zunino flies out to Joey...........and that might be it for JA whose now over 90 pitches with Ryan Tepera warming up in the bullpen

Top of the 7th

Jays retired in order

Bottom of the 7th

Jeff Beliveau who I have never seen pitch before is on the mound for the Jays to face one batter - Gamel - who manages to get a single off Jeff

Ryan Tepera on the mound now

Motter up for the Mariners...........goes down looking on called strike 3
Pinch-hitter Dyson comes to the plate...........(Gamel steals second)...........and he's out on a foul tip into Maile's mitt
Haniger flies out to Joey for the final out and the Mariners strand Gamel on 2nd

Top of the 8th

Tulo flies out to right
Ryan Goins in to bat for Darwin Barney.........and he strikes out
Zeke called out on strikes

Bottom of the 8th

Aaron Loup on the mound to start the 8th
Cano sneaks one by Tulo into left......and that's it for Aaron as Joe Smith will come in to face Nelson Cruz - great play by Smokie at first for the first out
Seager hits a grounder to Smokie at first
Valencia out on strikes............boy oh boy......the more I see of young Joe Smith, the more impressed I become

Top of the 9th

Tavilla in for the Mariners

Luke drills one to center but the outfielder takes the hit away
Kev goes down swinging
JD goes down swinging on strike 3

Bottom of the 9th

Danny Barnes will start the 9th...............and hopefully, finish it.

Zunino goes down swinging but made Joe work for the out
Gamel out on first pitch fly ball to Kev
Motter goes to 3 and 2 and he takes a walk which brings Dyson to the plate............shoulda got Motter, Danny
Dyson makes first on a hopper over the head of Tulo ............and Osuna is being called up to replace Danny
Hanniger will be the batter.............and Osuna saves the win for his 11th consecutive outing

Blue Jays shut out the Mariners and take the series 2 games to 1 - and, they are back at 1 point below 500 again.

Final: 4 zip

Seems like we have danced to this tune more than a few times this season but once again we are listening to the magic words........the Blue Jays could reach .500 tonight if they succeed in a win over the White Sox.

Joe Biagini is on the mound and Steve Pierce is back with the ball club.

Joe gives up a hit to the top of the order - a bouncer that was hard for Darwin to corral and Hanson is quick - really quick, he just stole 2nd

Joe walks Cabrera

Down 2 to Abreu white sox - down 3............and Abreu hits it off the wall, bounces past Joey as both Hanson and Cabrera reach home safely..........Sox up by 2 in the first

Tonight's is the only White Sox game my son and I will not be attending. Bought tickets to tomorrow's game as a part of the 4 games. Got Sunday's as a father's day gift. Also going to an extra against Tampa Bay in August with guys at work.

With a runner on third, nobody out...........Joe finally finds the strike zone........then loses it again...........Garcia grounds out to JD..........thank you Universe..............Abreu holds at 3rd - 1 away

Frazier goes after the first pitch and flies out to Joey but the throw to home is not in time and Abreu puts another one on the board for the Sox

Joey gets behind Davidson 2 - 0.............then gives up a base-line hit into the left corner as Davidson lands safely on 2nd

OMG.............Anderson hit a little hopper that Joe had to come off the mound to glove but he threw waaaaay over Smokies head and had to watch as Davidson came in to score the 4th run of the inning for the Sox.............this is simply painful

You might be glad you aren't there tonight, IRBS.............unless the Jays can turn this disaster of a first inning around right quickly.

Joe finally got the last out on a grounder to Darwin............good frickin' grief
