Blue Jays’ Roberto Osuna makes MLB history with latest save

Roberto Osuna picked up his 19th save of the season for the Toronto Blue Jays in a 7-5 victory over the Texas Rangers and subsequently made some MLB history.

It was Osuna’s 75th career save and at 22 years old he is the youngest player to accomplish the feat in the majors as the Sportsnet Stats department pointed out on Twitter.

So, the reason that Roberto is not on the mound is that he isn't 'feeling like himself'.

Meanwhile in the bottom of the 4th, Hosmer just hit a lead-off homerun off Marco to put the Royals ahead 2 - 1. The first run came after an error in the outfield that saw Kev and Joey run into each other trying to field the hit which neither of them ended up catching while the runner made 3rd and then made it home on the next hit. I'm beginning to think that none of them - except for Smokie - are feeling like themselves.

Pillar finally evened things up 2 all in the top of the 7th with a nice little homer.

Jays lose another one. I think the fat lady is starting to sing.

I just heard that Roberto Osuna has been diagnosed with anxiety. I would think every single member of the team would fall under a similar diagnosis right now.

That collision between Kev and Joey??? WTH was that all about? The errors keep adding up. But it is the pitching that really has me wondering, IRBS.

When offense is unpredictable it puts more strain on the pitching staff to 'have to be perfect'. Eventually it falls apart.

A closer having anxiety? Never heard of that before. They usually have nerves of steel. Think his days as closer are numbered .... unfortunately.

I watched every Jay's game with the Royals...........except of course the one they won today..........sheesh. It appears that Roberto's crisis is under control as he was brought in to close out the 9th and did so with authority. 8 - 2 the final.

Glad he felt confident enough to close out a 6 run lead.

I am wondering how Gibbons creates his lineup. Actually I am wondering what type of drugs he uses prior to doing so.

Bautista is NOT a leadoff hitter.
Martin is NOT a #2 hitter.
I can see Smoak as cleanup since he has been hot and you can bat Josh anywhere.
I thought Pillar was doing good at leadoff. Not sure why he got demoted.

Well Joey seems to be doing pretty well in the lead-off spot so far, IRBS and Kev was really struggling at bat there for awhile so I can understand his demotion.

The Jays will play Baltimore next - never an easy team for the guys having already lost 7 of the 9 games they've played this season. Then it's Boston, NY and Houston - the class of the league as they are calling them.

Personally, I think it will take a miracle for the team to reach the play-offs the way things are going with them right now.

I think the next 2 weeks will decide it. At the minimum they need to win each series. I think they probably need to sweep 1 or 2 of them.

Just heard that Jason Grilli has been released from the Jays. I know Jason had his struggles this year but I will miss him - a lot.

Joe Biagini will be on the mound today as the Jays take on the Orioles.

He has been designated for assignment. Within 10 days he needs to be traded or released.

Synopsis of the game: Biagini struggled on the mound. Jays stranded too many men on base. Tulo hits a homer in the 9th with 2 away finally giving the fans something to cheer about. Zeke comes to the plate and goes down striking. Orioles win 3 - 1

Marcus is dealing today - took only 8 pitches to retire the order top of the sixth and hasn't allowed a single run so far. Jays are leading 4 zip bottom of the 6th.

Stro pitched into the 8th and threw a career high 117 pitches. He gets the win and the shut-out. Jays win 4 zip.

Nice that he came back. His previous 2 outings were poor.
