It's "temporary" because there will always be a new threat that requires more freedoms be taken away to deal with the problem..

This is why we should never let neocons touch quotes from Franklin or Churchill.

Your plane hasn't been taken over by terrorists has it? Just what type of results are you looking for?

Pipelines and refineries and mines with no welfare bums hanging around blocking access.
And being able to get on a plane without spending an hour in the airport while some idiot steals my first aid scissors because they are a "threat".

You're failing to make sense as usual. You say you want results at the airport then you bring up welfare bums at refineries. You're worried about some idiot stealing your first aid scissors yet you support more silly laws that will only cause more grief. Why? Are you that afraid to fly and do you really think more rules and regulations are going to make you safer? You sound like the lefties that wanted to take everybody's rifles after a shooting.

9/11 ended that. This bill will do nothing to reverse it.

Nah they just rather not have more power to stop them.

More power to stop them doesnt seem to be needed. We havent really had a problem with them on our soil. The two we had in the fall were nutjobs who didnt have a plan. Nothing would have stopped people like that. Then there are the Toronto 18 and the folks who planned on bombing a via rail train - they were stopped before doing anything. It seems the government has enough power to stop threats.

I don't agree with Bill C-51, rather than taking Freedom away, give citizens the right to protect themselves.

Mulcair opposes that, too.

This is what we can look forward to with C-51:

My fellow citizens would not be at the wrong end of that gun. But I can see eccoterrorists and the anti everything crowd being dumb enough to try it. ANd they are much more of a threat to our way of life than any foreigners.

And disgruntled hippies who have an identity crisis that live in rectangular, aluminum clad tipis.

Actually Mulcair has a point why should we give up our liberty because
some undesirables among us are saboteurs of the State We should be
punishing them not the rest of us. Yes we can do that without the usual
destruction of liberty. I see this condemn the left nonsense and wonder
when the right was saying those same things struggling against fascism
or other ills were they really just lefties too? Never heard such nonsense
in a long time.
