President Trump considered the Wednesday testimony from Ambassador Gordon Sondland as a “win” for his presidency despite the ambassador’s claim of a “potential quid pro quo.”
During a tour of an Apple factory in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, Trump told reporters he was pleased with how he came out in Sondland’s testimony. He called the impeachment an “embarrassment to our country” and bashed the leadership of House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“Let me tell you, it’s a hoax, it’s a disgrace, it’s an embarrassment to our country. Nancy Pelosi has done a terrible job as speaker. There’s never been a speaker that has done so little, and she's totally incompetent,” Trump said. “And shifty Schiff stands up, and he tells lies all day long.”
He added, “And even with that, we have no due process, we can’t have anything, and yet not only did we win today, it's over.”
Trump slammed the press for claiming that Sondland landed some punches during the hearing. He said, “But we have a fake press, we have a phony press. We don’t have freedom of the press in this country. We have a phony press. They are dishonest, most of them.“
He continued, “Most of them are fake and phony. CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, the Washington Post, New York Times. These are fake papers. They are fake press. They should be ashamed of themselves. And they hurt our country.”

how is a communication between Trump and Sondland as reported by Sondland 2nd or 3rd hand hearsay?
is it because you don't know what hearsay is?
Nope. The only ones that are questioning the value of secondhand info are the Republicans......... This is NOT a court of law...... This is the gathering of information and building a case on pattern of behavior....... or an instance of behavior.
The people with first hand info are being obstructed from being questioned...by Trump himself.
Would love to see Trump testify........but only if wired up to a lie detector. ;-)
Spoiler alert: It didn't last.
For the rest of the day, Republican members of the House intelligence committee pounded back at the witness and exposed vulnerabilities in his testimony.
Sondland granted them an opening. He insisted he'd only drawn his conclusions about a quid pro quo based on his own logical reading of the situation, and not on anything he was actually told by Trump.
When asked why, in conversations later in the summer, Sondland appeared to describe military aid for Ukraine as tied to those investigations, he replied: "My personal belief," and added, "Two plus two equals four."
The wagon-circlers ignored evidence they already have of the president linking the issues — evidence that came from the president himself in the summary of his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky released by the White House.
Meanwhile, Sondland insisted it took him months to realize the Ukrainian company he was pushing to investigate had any connection to the Biden family.
He then tossed the president another lifeline: Sondland said that in their most detailed conversation on the matter, the president specifically told him not to pressure Ukraine.
It was Sept. 9 and, according to Sondland, the president was in a foul mood. "[Trump] just said, 'I want nothing. I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo,'" recalled Sondland.
Democrats insisted this exculpatory anecdote is meaningless. And not just because Sondland, a wealthy political donor-turned-diplomat, has had to correct false testimony before...……...More but it pretty much a pro Dem Article
The tweet I am talking about in my post was this one:
Taken directly from Donald Trump's Twitter: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1195356198347956224 (I feel dirty having gone there, but personal thoughts aside...)
After reading the tweet to Yovanovitch, in real time at the inquiry, she was asked about it.
https://time.com/5730596/trump-attacks-yovanovitch-hearing-tweet/
It doesn't matter if Trump doesn't think it was intimidating, the person the tweet was directed at thinks so, and there are actual repercussions for that discussed in the article. Intimidation is against the law.
Trump is INSANE to think this is a correct way to handle ANYONE, witness or not, in a position for the US People overseas. How the HELLZ does he expect ANY Ambassador now to work for him, honestly, without fear of their jobs or even their life (yes, life, depending on where they are in the world).
Intimidation of witnesses is against the law. Clear, cut, and impeachable. Donald Trump now, in "real time" as they say, committed this crime and there is NO excuses for it.
Fixed that fer ya.I heard it from a friend who....heard it from a friend who….heard it from another Mexico'll pay for the wall.
Upon adjustment, it is clear THAT was an obvious cry of defeat...Forked that fur! YA!
CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on Thursday called his mother on live TV to debunk a Trump claim. Cable news, everyone!
Ahead of diplomat David Holmes' testimony that he overheard President Donald Trump’s July 26 phone call with U.S. Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland, Trump took to Twitter to claim that it was impossible to overhear a full conversation if it wasn’t on speakerphone.
And during a break in impeachment testimony on Thursday, Cuomo attempted to give a live on-air demonstration to debunk the president’s assertion. And it completely backfired on him.
“Very interesting theory from our president that he has really good hearing, some would say, the best hearing ever, and he has never been able to hear a phone call when it wasn’t on speakerphone from anybody,” the CNN anchor declared. “So, let’s just play with that for a second.”
Cuomo went on to dial-up his mother on his cell phone, asking her: “Mom, can you hear me?” CNN viewers, however, heard nothing in response.
Holding the phone up next to his colleague Dana Bash, Cuomo then requested that his mother say hello to the CNN correspondent. While there was once again silence, Bash awkwardly glanced at the camera as Cuomo fumbled with his phone.
After eventually switching it to speakerphone, Cuomo once again asked his mother if she could hear him, finally prompting a response the audience could hear. Changing the phone back to normal mode, he then wanted his mom to say hello to Bash. As Bash attempted to hold a conversation with Mrs. Cuomo, CNN viewers again heard nothing on the other end of the call.
“I can’t hear your mother, Chris,” pro-Trump CNN pundit David Urban gleefully exclaimed. “I’m sitting across the table.”
Cuomo, meanwhile, attempted to save the segment by saying the phone was “two feet away” from Dana and she could hear his mother. CNN contributor John Dean also speculated that it is possible Sondland may have accidentally hit speaker on his phone during his call with Trump.
“He said he had an earpiece in and he was moving the earpiece,” Cuomo replied. “Earpiece is a magnifier sound. I was giving the president the best benefit of his own analysis, which I would probably argue is nothing more than a distraction to try to undermine actual direct testimony.”
“This iPhone, without an earpiece, on regular phone mode, trying it live, literally on live TV, Dana could hear my mother,” the CNN host concluded. “I’m just happy she didn’t take me down a couple of notches.”
Yeah, well, some people only hear what they want to hear. lolThat's not what Moosie heard.
