The United States is considering a significant cut to its troop numbers in South Korea if Seoul does not contribute more to the cost of the deployment, South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reported on Thursday.
The US broke off talks on defence costs with South Korea this week after demanding Seoul raise its annual contribution to $5bn, more than five times what it pays now, in a rare public display of discord in the alliance.

Lieutenant General Shao Yuanming, deputy chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, met South Korean defence vice-minister Park Jae-min in Beijing and both sides agreed to deepen bilateral ties, Yonhap said.
The dialogue took place on the sidelines of the Xiangshan Forum, a three-day gathering on Asia-Pacific security and defence which started on Sunday.
The defence ministry in Seoul said the two countries shared the view that “China’s constructive role, along with South Korea’s efforts, is crucial for the complete denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula and the establishment of a permanent peace”, Yonhap reported.

President Trump considered the Wednesday testimony from Ambassador Gordon Sondland as a “win” for his presidency despite the ambassador’s claim of a “potential quid pro quo.”
During a tour of an Apple factory in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, Trump told reporters he was pleased with how he came out in Sondland’s testimony. He called the impeachment an “embarrassment to our country” and bashed the leadership of House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“Let me tell you, it’s a hoax, it’s a disgrace, it’s an embarrassment to our country. Nancy Pelosi has done a terrible job as speaker. There’s never been a speaker that has done so little, and she's totally incompetent,” Trump said. “And shifty Schiff stands up, and he tells lies all day long.”
He added, “And even with that, we have no due process, we can’t have anything, and yet not only did we win today, it's over.”
Trump slammed the press for claiming that Sondland landed some punches during the hearing. He said, “But we have a fake press, we have a phony press. We don’t have freedom of the press in this country. We have a phony press. They are dishonest, most of them.“
He continued, “Most of them are fake and phony. CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, the Washington Post, New York Times. These are fake papers. They are fake press. They should be ashamed of themselves. And they hurt our country.”

Every 1st hand account with Trump there was no conditions, and actually his last time on the phone with Trump he asked what Trump wanted out of Ukraine, Trump replied Nothing, absolutely no 'Quid pro quo' just ask Zelenski to do the right thing what he ran on. His presumption was drawn on personal assumption on the investigation that the American Mayor was doing and a conversation that he had with him. I bet you 2 never heard this part of his testimony did you?

Trump Is WINNING On Impeachment And The Media Has Started PANICKING. Latest polls and aggregate polls show Donald Trump's approval rating has recovered since the start of the Ukraine Scandal, his approval rating has gone up since the start of the impeachment process.
At the same time support for impeachment is falling, opposition has jumped 10 points among independents, and people are upset with the way Democrats are handling the impeachment process.
Upon seeing these facts media outlets like CNN and Buzzfeed are framing this as an "alternate reality" when in fact they are in the minority.
If most independents, moderates, and Republicans oppose impeachment then it seems its the democrats, far left, and leftist media that are in denial.
The Washington Post ran an op-ed recently showing that Democrats are failing and we all know it. Even as Buzzfeed claims Republicans are in an alternate reality they say "they are winning theirs"
So far Democrats have done nothing to address to claims at hand dealing with Joe Biden, instead they keep fighting over "quid pro quo"
Adam Schiff is floundering and I can only imagine Nancy Pelosi is livid having been dragged into a failing impeachment battle.
