leave me out of it :p brrrr
now to go see some dialup porn .... be back in 2 hours

Well, the kiddies could use a Commodore 64 emulator and play some C64 porn games. Sex Games, Farmer's Daughter, Strip Poker, etc.;) LOL!

Carpal tunnel in their thumbs from texing....by age twenty-five. Lol.

Heck, since they get phones so young nowadays, they'll have it before they hit puberty!

Politically correct meant "Don't chew gum in class."

Speaking of so-not politically correct names for something. There are small black licorice pieces that kids in the time when my parents were kids called Ni**er Babies. They didn't know any better back then, and they certainly don't get called that nowadays!

Bottle of pop for seven cents, and you got a two cents back for the bottle. Riding on the crossbar of your friends bicycle . How many of you still have the A&W mug ?

Actually having a chance to have an "Instant Win" prize under the cap, such as a free pop or other free goodie. They also had this in bags of chips as well.

I remember going to an abandoned field and riding my bike with friends up and down the piles of dirt. No helmet of course. Most such sites these days are completely fenced off and all kids wear bike helmets.

You just triggered a memory. I remember riding my BMX up and down the paths they had in the empty lot, and using a couple of the dirt hills as a ramp to fly into the air. Lots of fun, numerous spills, one case of poison ivy, and one scratched and dirty bike. Good times! It is now a duplex, so I can't even walk past through it for "old time's sake".

Or buy delicious Good Humor ice cream on the cheap from one of these trucks:

Or the Dic-key Dee (sp?) carts that people used to bike up and down the streets during the summer.

Think of all the kids who will grow up never having heard the words "You'll put your eye out with that!!!"

All the need to do is watch A Christmas Story to hear those words.;) LOL!

Another piece of stupidity equally as stupid as Ethnic rocks.

Now it's "roll up the rim". -:)

Every town had one of these - in Brooklyn we had many:

My family spent many hours in this one:

In my day for 50 ¢ (and a G.O. card) you got:

* news reels with sports highlights

* classic cartoon or two

* Three Stooges or Laurel & Hardy film short

* trailers of movies to come

* second run movie

* feature movie

All in air condition comfort and in living color which is something nobody had at home in those days. I understand several areas have tried to bring back Bijou entertainment in recent years but it is not cost effective. I guess with so much home entertainment nowadays that is understandable. But it sure was fun in those days!

Not to mention kids being allowed to go to school barefoot in the spring/summer.

wow, i've never seen that.

i had to wear 'proper lace-up oxfords) with long cotton stockings.

i actually kind of like uniforms for school kids, gets away from the fashion show,
everyone's equally dressed, looks neat, no support from my dAughters with that
opinion.

THAT, I agree with!
The girls looked better too, when they had to wear dresses/skirts.

Sing God Save The Queen (and/or O Canada...I can't remember which one or whether it was morning or end of day now to be honest) at elementary school.

Go to a Drive-In movie.

See a caboose.

You can still do that within 25 miles of here!

Gopher, I believe they still sell Coke and Pepsi in glass bottles. I know that I've seen Pepsi for sure in the local Walmart, but I'm not sure if the Coke bottles are all year long like the Pepsi or just during special times of the year (Christmas).
