Lol, what on earth are you talking about? This sounds like you might be reading a lot of stuff from people who are mad that their research can't get through peer review.

Obviously the process isn't perfect, but when you "look into it", what do they suggest as an alternative?

Actually I question if ANY research is actually required. We KNOW that this is an ongoing cycle. We know that all life has some impact on it. We know if we smarten up and clean up our act, we won't make it any worse.

Lol, look in a mirror.

Why? I can follow a thread.

In thread after thread you lose track and jump from foot to foot. Everyone has said that to you over and over. Time to face reality.

Naïve to think that this is simply about cleaning up our act.

This is about theft and nothing more.

In addition we are naïve to think that if this theft is allowed that we will not be affected. Costs will simply be passed on to those in the west that are the consumers. The rest of the world has been given a free pass and will be the beneficiaries of our labor.

And just what have I been guilty of stealing that you haven't?

.. Which brings us back to the original question: What (by definition) is a 'climate scientist' and do academic institiutions offer dedicated studies and degrees in Climate Science?
The trades have Red Seal Climate Journeymen.

Let's underwrite Gerryh to do a on paper the impact of global warming on HVAC climate control systems and have it peer reviewed by both SAIT and NAIT climate journeymen.

All you post is rhetoric and platitudes... Moreover, you have zero interest or ambition in actually uncovering any info on your own accord.

It's pointless for myself or any other to provide any info to you as it is wasted.

As the expression goes; you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink

I always find it very telling when people spend more time arguing about why they don't want to explain their points than it would take to simply explain themselves.

How about full disclosure, proof (is always nice) and the ability for anyone to challenge rather than the 'approved list' of peer-reviewers that are chosen by the lobby that has been already ID'd as fraudulent

Full disclosure and proof are already essential parts of academic research. What made you think that wasn't the case?

When it comes to determining credibility and validity though, you need people who are qualified to make those decisions. If you want things to be completely democratic, qualified people are far outnumbered by laypeople, so it would really be a race to the bottom.

That said, anyone is free to put anything out there, but people who want solid, credible research will stick to peer reviewed work.

ITT, eh?

I'm guessing that they offered a course on that too

Fukk!!!... I laughed out loud reading that from the Usual Suspect that explains absolutely nothing and contributes even less to the discussion.

Kudos, it's been aeons since I laughed that hard

While we are on the subject of climate change, I thought I may as well bring you up to date on what I heard on the news tonight, to give you worry warts some more sh*t to worry about. The predicted rise of sea level has just been upgraded exponentially over previous predictions due to accelerated warming in Western Antarctica and the city of Vancouver will be expending $billions in the next few years on upgrading infrastructure and building dikes. P.E.I. is in even direr straits as most of the Island will be going under.

Maybe they should be thinking of ways of using this extra water to back fill holes they are pulling billions of cubic metres of gas and oil out of. -:)

Why do you bother to post so much and say absolutely nothing?
