About how I feel , I no longer feel like a free man but a vassal of the state .
You
are a vassal of the state. We work for the govt, not the other way around, and we just let it happen. Same with the marketplace. Used to be a time when the consumer dictated the marketplace. They still do to SOME degree but at the same time they go running out to buy the latest doodad because they're TOLD they need it, even if they really don't.
Marketing, mass media and govt are all using the same technique. Notice how many political debates end up being about how much the other person sucks and very little to do with actual debate of policy ideas? Ever notice how more and more marketing is based on "lifestyle" instead of appealing to your logical side? Ever notice how the MSM goes for the emotional throat with a lot of their headlines and in many cases, their articles as well? That's because they use a marketing technique designed to entirely bypass the logic and reasoning center of your brain and ping the emotional center. There's an entire ideology steeped in emotional (and moral) relativism. Emotional "reasoning" is caveman thinking, it's NOT progressive thinking. This is the kind of stunted pseudo-intellectualism that causes people to vote
against someone instead of actually
for someone. Example: There are three unions in the US that supported Biden's bid for presidency and now they're stunned and whining about the KXL cancellation. But, because they're a bunch of anti-Republican/Conservative, anti-Trump jag-offs, they apparently had no feckin' clue just what it was they were voting for.
Emotions by and large are irrational. They are nothing more than autonomic chemical reactions to stimuli. Thought and reasoning are what puts us "above" most of the animal kingdom. A serious dearth of both is what put Biden in the White House and gave Canada a sexist, racist PM...twice!
Stupid people are just easier to control. Why do you think knowledge/higher education was kept from the working classes for so long? It wasn't until Andrew Carnegie gave the US, and ultimately the world, the public library system that things gradually improved for the middle AND lower classes. It was a great equalizer for those who wished to take advantage. But when govts control information they control knowledge.
We're not supposed to look behind the curtain. Just obey the huge, bobbing, disembodied head.
