O.K. Teddy, you likely know more about it than I do! When it comes to politics I'm non partisan- just vote for whoever I think can make things work! Actually I find American politics very confusing, not to mention dragged out for about 50 weeks longer than need be.
Like you I am a fiscal conservative but far more liberal on social policy. I see Obama as much like Carter. Ineffective but doing no real harm.ROmney OTH seems wishy washy and will say whatever he thinks the listener wants to hear. His past as a vulture capitalist worries me some but mostly it is all the wingnuts in the party that he will be beholden to that scare the $hit out of me.

Romney stated he paid what was required by law. So change the law- increase taxes and cut spending.

Please consider that 1/ venture capitalism has a valid place in spuring investment, growth and jobs in the American private sector and expertise in this area especially at this time is preferable to ignorance in this area and 2/ guys that have made their fortunes and are independently wealthy and 65 years of age or older - which describes Mitt Romney - are much less likely to be beholden to wingnuts or to anyone else and more likely to chart their own course and stand their ground than are younger and less affluent guys still on the make like Barry Obama who has several really nutty and unseemly associates who worry me.

If he were to go to Litchestein (SP), then he would not be eligible to run for office from there.
And he is much better qualified than Mr. Obama was when HE took office, and he remains being MUCH MORE qualified than Mr. Obama.

Mr. Obama inherited a lot of fiscal corruption centred around Wall St. and Sub Prime mortgages and sleezy C.E.O.s across the entire corporate sector. Obama comes across better to the little man and wage slave than does Romney.

Since you actually seem like one of the more reasonable and fair minded people on this board of mainly left wing ideologues, may I suggest that instead of unwittingly drinking the Obama kool-aide you actually get to know more about the real Obama rather than the false image the left has portrayed about him. When you do, you'll meet a singularly selfish, self centered and lying prick who does nothing while close relatives live in abject poverty which contrasts with Romney who has quietly and selflessly helped literally hundreds of people whom he didn't know or barely knew in the course of his adult life with charitable labour and money not to mention the thousands of others whom he has helped in the course of his business career.

I tend to take people at face value which may be a mistake. Obama strikes me as a decent man, which I may extend to his ability as President. I've often thought most of the hatred and vitriol extended to Bush was based more on emotion than fact, although I do think in hindsight his invasion of Iraq was a costly mistake, although I can see a lot of justification for it. I can see where people think Obama is out of his league as president, but I sincerely think he is trying to do the right thing, but lacks the sophisitication to be a good president. He has probably learnt a lot in his first term & think he may do well in a second term.
How much did Romney shelter in overseas tax free accounts? And how much of his wealth came from tax dollars and government contracts?
