WOW a serious post from T Bone.. without the usual Malaki (spam, trolling, B.S.).
That's "malarkey." Sorry, couldn't resist.
Great post. Glad you have become a Libertarian. ;)

I haven't. I just don't see any point in spending money for the security of people who have demonstrated their clear preference to take their chances with Russia and China.

Cold War's over. Time to move on.

Wait till you hear my plan for entitlement spending.

Sorta a protectionist mentality?? We need to stop outsourcing and bring companies back to the USA and employ Americans!!

Consumers are addicted to cheap stuff and it will be our downfall as a country.

People usually review their options after being bombed I wouldn't take it personally if I were you. You obviously are completely ignorant about war, cold, over and otherwise. Get a job.

Great White Whales? June Shannon?

Surely you can be of better help than that HB!

More like Red Storm Rising.

Sum of All Fears was nasty muslims nuking Denver.

Unless you were talking about the PC movie version (muslims replace by white racist, commies, and nazis) which s-ucked azz.

Sorry ,I've been too busy arguing religion with French Patriot. Go ahead & use Honey Boo Boo instead., although JS is about as 'Great white Whale' as it gets.

Sum of all Fears actually has a lot of battle between the Soviets and the US, esp. in West Berlin. Clancy at his best....

This is a great day for the United States as a whole, as it truly shows democracy at it's best.. it is a good day for the USA as Obama was wise enough to seek congressional support before acting and bringing the United States into a log drawn out war.. and the democratic process shows the United State's strengths, not weakness.

That is a point on which I can agree. The power to declare war was vested in Congress. the Power to execute an immediate defense is vested in the POTUS. .Not a bad idea. Stood the test of time.

That's odd. I studied the Constitution for several years and I never saw that stuff about immediate defence. Got a cite?

The Blind Squirrel Gambit - By David Rothkopf | Foreign Policy

Every so often, a blind squirrel finds a nut. This is unquestionably good news for the squirrel, provided that what he has found is actually a nut and not some other less savory thing lying around on the forest floor. But the same blindness that afflicted the squirrel before his fortunate discovery will almost certainly make it impossible for him to see the potential consequences of his seeming good fortune.

"In our society, those who have the best knowledge of what is happening are also those who are furthest from seeing the world as it is. In general, the greater the understanding, the greater the delusion; the more intelligent, the less sane. One clear illustration of this is the fact that war hysteria increases in intensity as one rises in the social scale."
-Orwell's 1984 describing 2013.
