Better have trust in God to hit the switch if that happens...
Why?Maybe there's something closer to the switch. Maybe there's an official switchtender.
Maybe there's a huge number of people hinging their entire lives on nothing but maybes and ifs.

The Catholic Church's characterization of homosexuality, as an intrinsic EVIL, is in fact accurate, if somewhat unpalatable in a culture as politically correct as the West has become.

Catholic Church's characterization is religious, not secular or legal. It is accurate only to the other Catholics, not to anybody else. Evil is a religious concept, not secular concept.

The reason that all homosexuality is proscribed from the priesthood is that evil by its nature accepts no boundaries. Once the constituent natural law is broken, no other borders will apply. It will only be constrained by lack of opportunity and fear of legal or occupational retribution.

The reason homosexuality is proscribed is prejudice against gays, hatred of homosexuals. it has nothing to do with sex abuse scandal. As studies reveal, most pedophiles are heterosexual, not homosexual.

Your 'studies' are bogus, probably concocted by the rampant homosexual agenda, that has spared no duress or falsifications to classify homosexuality as normal and natural.. with any absurd argument.

The studies I refer to are scientific studies.

The fact that other forms of evil exits, related to power and gratification, in no way impugns the Church's assessment of homosexuality. Nor is it surprising that position which comes with as much potential for proclaiming Truth as the priesthood, would also attract imposters whose proclomation is the false gospel of material gratification and radical individualism.

Oh, plenty of evils exist in the eyes of the Church. Besides homosexuality, there is abortion, pornography, contraception, these are all evils in the eyes of the Church. The greatest evil of course (perhaps even bigger than homosexuality) is women trying to fight for equal rights with men.

There is the legend of Lilith, the predecessor of Eve. Lilith considered herself to be equal of Adam. For such audacity, God killed her and created Eve. That is the starting point of Catholicism. Committing suicide of course is the ultimate evil, it guarantees one a place in Hell.

So yes, Catholicism is full of evils of all kinds.

He had no ambition for Papacy, and you would have to be crazy to want a post where all of your privacy is sacrificed, and you make yourself a target for the yellow press and the shallow intellects that follow them, religiously.

Sez you. Almost every Cardinal dreams of becoming a Pope some day, same as almost any Vice Presidnet hopes to become a CEO some day.

Benedict is not only an honourable man, he is a great Pope, and one of the most formidable intellects of our age.

Again, sez you.

Time and destiny will tell, cliffy. You've obviously put all your wagers on one outcome. Are you prepared to be wrong. ;-)
Life is a journey not a destination. When you live in the moment, the end doesn't matter. I've done my research, I have even asked for guidance. If what I have come to know as true is indeed wrong, then I blame the source. If it has mislead me, I do not give it permission to judge me. In fact, I do not give it permission even if I'm right. If it tries, there will be hell to pay, and I assure you it will not be me that burns.

Has it ever accured to anyone that there still are people living in remote places in the world that have no knowledge of Religion or the Bible. What happens to them after they perish, do you think they are doomed? Of course not!

There are just too many politics in religion these days to see the joy's of the benefits in what it has to offer.

That might affect some of those who say they have no beliefs. Most believe something else. Jsu because a persone does not subscribe to the christian version, does not make them atheist.

Life is a journey not a destination.
It's my destination. I am here and loving it. If there's something after it, I'll cross the bridge after this, or not. If there is nothing after this, then I won't have wasted a lot of my destination dwelling on what's after.

..... and the same could be said for religion in relation to life in general.
People should be happy about whatever they have and seek only to improve that happiness. Faith in a bunch of ifs is sometimes a retardant to that objective..

Couldn't find a smaller version?

Chesterton is only partially right. He forgot the part that says "....anything if it has merit".

C'mon I live right next to the mexican border, there are tons of Jesus "chewy" and Moses, and Angels, and I've even seen a Jehova out here. What are you trying to pull?
I'm not the one trying to pull anything. I just asked what Jesus looked like.
