God's knowledge is absolute and infinite; it is He Who created the moon and the entire universe, as is it He Who revealed the Quran, the Torah and the Gospel. The Quran, being the most recent of these heavenly books, includes a tremendous knowledge concerning the universe that confirms the true science, and some that is superior to the present knowledge.
I am from Missouri (the "show me" state), so be a good fella and show me.

Do you know why some of the engineers of NASA, who went to the moon, converted?
Their lack of a mind large enough to consider the size of the universe would be my guess. I see the sun, a massive object as one of 100 thousand million in our galaxy. see those as just some in a universe that at best guesstimate, has about 10 to the 23rd power of suns. I can grasp that concept and still not attribute the circumstances to some superstitious being conjuring up everything.

A man who could go to the moon and put his feet there upon its ground, could only glorify God – be celebrated His praise. And this was what King Armstrong did.
God – be glorified – said in the Quran 11: 49

The explanation: (These [stories and tidings] are [some] of the tidings of 'the Unknown' which We reveal to you [Mohammed]; you did not know them, neither did your people, before this [revelation] …etc)

A lot of things were said in holy books. I am not impressed. But, books of fiction abound.

I haven't been here for awhile, but just thought I would check in, and low and behold,
(is that religious?, don't think so), there are my two favourite CLEAR and logical thinking
friends,(gilbert and dexter,) thanks for keeping this forum on a straight and level headed course, as I do think
there are quite a few souls in this world who are floating, floating, floating and do not have a clue, clue, clue.

Gilbert, I'm glad you are back, was worried about you.
I thank you. Talloola. *hugs*

Your insisting is like that of Noah's people, as in the Quran 71: 7

The explanation: ("And whenever I call them [to believe], that You may forgive them [their sins], they thrust their fingers in their ears, veil their [heads] with their garments and persist [in their refusal] and grow arrogant.")

roflmao You are such a funny fellow. I am sorry to deviate from the topic but I just have to thank you for the laughs you provide. Both the Quran and the Bible have provided plenty of evidence to suggest that they are books of fiction which may contain the odd fact. This only makes them suspect as to validity and certainly does not inspire confidence in factual basis. In other words, they are decidedly lacking in science. Neither show any evidence of scientific method.

Gil ol' chap, nice to see you back here again. I guess according to some posters in here I'll see you in Hell in the next life, eh? I'll bring the booze if you'll bring the cigars and the mix...

For mix, I'd want Coca-Cola Classic for the rum, Canada Dry ginger ale for the rye, spring water for the cheap scotch blends, nothing for the fine old single malts, they don't need any help, tonic and limes for the gin, nothing for vodka 'cause I won't bring any, and there'll be no bourbon either, I hate the stuff, and lots of ice cubes. Cigars, your choice, but nothing under $10. Looking forward to the party. I think there'll be a few other folks from here as well, should be a good time... Might even invite Old Nick in for a drink.

I agree, it will be much fun.
BTW, I drink Bombay Sapphire gin, Appleton's Estate rum, and Jameson's or Connemara Irish whisky, all with no mix except for a bit of water occasionally. Guinness' stout or G's Cream Ale, and Tuborg, but outside of the GUinness, I am not as particular about my beers. :)

Shame on me for 3 minutes, I forgot the Irish. Obviously you are a man of refined taste and discernment.

You may find the best wine in Paradise.
As in the Quran 76: 5
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا
The explanation: (Surely, those charitable [in the World] shall drink [in Paradise] a cup of wine mixed with Kafoor.)

What is this Kafoor eanassir? I am familiar with wine.

darkbeaver, I don't know exactly; it may be the "camphor", but I don't know; I asked the late interpreter about it: he said: it almost may be the "camphor".
Isay: I don't know precisely; but it is something that gives taste, flavor and smell.
In Arabic the "camphor" is called "kafoor".

·The book "The Universe and the Quran", which is at our site:
http://universeandquran.741.com
,includes many of such things that are verified by science like the sphericity of the earth, which was not known to people at that time; when they thought the earth is flat.

Refer to our site: http://universeandquran.741.com
And see there
A miracle of the Quran: the authentic word of God:

and many other subjects.

·Whereas an example, of things that they have not yet verified, is the existence of man, plant and animal on the planets.

That's the kind of detail we need to know about. When old words lose thier meaning it makes me sad to think the speakers are also gone.

There is difference in language and tongue among nations and between the ancient and the recent generations.
E.g. John (he is Prophet John Babtist, the cousin of Jesus Christ)
John in English
Yahya in Arabic (which means: he will live; I think he was weak at birth, and may be of low birth weight, because he was born to old man and old woman: his parents; and God gave him this name to assure his parents that "he sahll live")
Yokhanna in the original language.

In the Quran, God – be glorified – called him according to the meaning of the word and according to the Arabic tongue.

Another example:
Simon Peter:
His original name was:
Shamoon (in Hebrew)
Samaan (in Arabic)
Which may be similar to Ismael (in English Ishmael) which means "God has heard" the supplication of Prophet Abraham and give him his son Ismael.

I gave these as examples, but I am not expert in some of these languages, but I derived such information from the interpretation of the late interpreter of the Quran and the Bible.
